Age of Conan developer Funcom has been granted $260k from the Norsk Film Institutt, to help in the development of a Snowboarding game.

It's the Norwegian government's digital arts division, and they're supporting Funcom's 'On The Edge Of The World'; a free-to-play onliner.

The snowboarding game is in development for PC and MAC and will be free-to-play online, with competitions running, a full social network and 'trans-media integration.

On The Edge Of The World will be promoting the Norwegian winter sports which is why the national government is likely so interested in pledging their support.

Have you ever snowboarded?
