Kai Huang is founder of the Guitar Hero goliath, and he says RedOctane is looking into Natal and its camera technology for "possibilities."

There aren't any "specific announcements" tech-wise for Guitar Hero 6 "and beyond," but they're "definitely exploring" motion technology.

"We haven't made any specific announcements of what we're doing with new technologies in "Guitar Hero 6" and beyond, but one of the areas we're exploring certainly is camera technology and what you can do", Huang told the Seattle Times.

Things like "...track your movements and maybe have your characters on the screen do certain things you're doing, or personalize it more so it can look more like you on stage rather than just be an avatar."

"There are a lot of possibilities that technologies like Natal will bring, and we're definitely exploring those possibilities." Guitar Hero was inspired by Dance Dance Revolution, which is all about physical body movement on a mat. Natal could "definitely" help Guitar Hero take a further step in that direction says Huang.

There are other genres of music that RedOctane might get into, aside from Rock. "In the US, country music is obviously very popular. Globally, classical music has always been very interesting. Latin music - there are just so many different genres of music and instruments that haven't been tapped into yet." Peripheral maracas coming 2010!

Is Natal a perfect fit for the music game genre?

Wow, you could really expand on your guitar-smashing moves at the end of a Who song.

i guess that we are now getting unavoidably close to the real thing, and where I say:"if I wanted to play the guitar, I would take lessons to play the real thing, when and how ever i wanted to and with the songs I liked all the time."

Natal is just an excuse to shake your ass in front of the TV and a way to catch up to the craze of the Wii. A good way to progress the evolution of computers etc, but for gaming? I'm not even lukewarm. However, the cool thing for Natal would be a Yoga program, or something such where the computer/console tells you when you are doing right or wrong. Now that could be something... Airguitaring is and will always be best performed in a bar after too many beers! ;)
