The omens tell of delay once again for EA's Warhammer Online

Producer Jeff Hickman has announced this morning that their MMORPG of Warhammer will be pushed back to an autumn release. It was originally slated for a Q1 release this year, which soon changed to Q2 as the studio wanted more time to polish the game.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is for the PC and is being developed by EA Mythic.

It's doubtful the studio would delay the shipping date again after this announcement for a release this fall; it would make them look a little out of their depth. The good news is that all this extra time can be invested in making sure the features are firing on all pistons and as many bugs are squashed as possible.

Having a game delayed by such a vast amount of time can be heart-wrenching, just look at the original October 2007 release for GTAIV, now we've got just over a month still to wait until April 29. Though I think Duke Nukem fans can probably groan the loudest. Hang in there!

avatar Better to have a delay than a release of a beta profuct which EA has become infamous for of late (that and poor customer support). I'll take the delay if it means a more refined and polished release.
