S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky release date revealed

GSC Game World and Koch Media today announced that it plans to release S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky on August 29th, 2008 for the PC.

"The topic of the release date for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky has created a lot of interest among gamers, press and fans. We’re pleased to announce an exact date for this highly anticipated game now," said Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, Managing Director of Koch Media.


"Our intention to deliver the game simultaneously worldwide is both a challenge and big responsibility to the many fans of the game around the globe. We are looking forward to achieve this ambitious goal in August." said Sergiy Grygorovych, GSC World Publishing CEO.

At last. I hope GSC have heeded the many comments on the original, the Mods that have been far more popular than the MP (which is dead) and the graphical excellence of CoD4 and Crysis. With Far Cry 2 due as well their had better be some compelling reasons to return to The Zone.

Appears that most of the content left out of SoC is includded in this so there should be no reason for delays as only a tweaking of the engine (textures etc.) and a new story line need to be implemented. That being said, the original was delayed-to-death.
