This hybrid creation from Gas Powered Games, developer of Supreme Commander, has said that Demigod will be pushed back to an early 2009 release. This is to collect and work with all the summers’ beta feedback from gamers.

Demigod is a RTS-RPG mix; Stardock will be publishing the game both through retail and digital distribution channels.

"Not only do we have a proven retail publisher, but we get to partner with a pioneer in the digital distribution space...a company that totally understands what kind of experience our customer wants and the quality game they demand," said Chris Taylor, founder and CEO of Gas Powered Games.

The game won't come with any copy protection much like 'Sins of a Solar Empire' from Ironclad Games when they signed with Stardock.

Players in Demigod take the form of a golem whose sole duty is to destroy the opposing army before your own gets smooshed.

Good move. Early in the year is usually a deserted landscape for quality new releases, after the glut that comes in November. Hopefully it won't be another "Ant Farm" like Supreme Commander.
