The brand new Total War from long-time strategy veterans Creative Assembly is to be Shogun II: Total War according to an appointment leak.

Already we've learnt that the new Total War would be "returning to its roots" by leaving gunpowder behind. Looks like it's the samurai again?

Turkish site Oyungezer claims to be setup for an appointment with publisher Sega to talk about the new Shogun II: Total War, the soon to be announced new instalment to the turn-based/real-time strategy franchise.

The original game was Shogun, meaning that Creative Assembly want to return after all these years to have another samurai stab at the Japanese feudal era. The latest has been Napoleon: Total War but it seems the studio has grown tired of gunpowder.

Are you excited for another trip to Japan, or would you have preferred Rome?

This will make for a good remake.

Good choice!

I know it's a popular choice for an overwhelming majority and perhaps by focusing on such a small map we might be seeing a lot of extras. However, it will be a small map and it might come down to the case of: "Be careful what you wish for...".
I'll be interested to see the progression of it's development, but for the first time I may not get this TW title on release.
China, World War One...so many other choices.

Aye, could've perhaps been a better choice. But might be ok. I'll hope it will.

My memory doesn't span on such time frames. But I at least remember that I enjoyed playing it back then.

It was the first total war game, so hardcore fans remember it with a bit of nostalgia. They've been calling for a re-make ever since they went 3D with Rome though, so you could say this has been a long-time coming.

I started my Total War Career with Shogun.. although not when it first came out. I picked it up after it had gone classic.
