Look I made a play on words! Producer Shigenobu Matsuyama reveals that studio Kojima is "aiming for two" series to run for Metal Gear Solid.
The upcoming MGS: Rising is "not a side story," he says, with it set to become a series of "another standard." Less stealth and more action then?
“MGS Rising is not a side story. We’re aiming for two Metal Gear Solids, making a series out of another standard,” Matsuyama-san said in a podcast, reports . If the title starring Raiden is a success then we can expect many more.
As to why Raiden was chosen to play the lead it was because he was all about slicing up foes in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Kojima Productions wanted Rising to be all about blade action - a natural fit you see.
Why was Raiden so ninja in MGS4? Well Rising bridges the events between MGS2 and 4 so you'll find out if you play it. It's being developed for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
