UK developer Jagex has a browser-based MMORPG called Stellar Dawn that's in its final stages, and it's coming to PC and Mac when it launches.

It's all about the sci-fi setting with advanced weaponry and crafts teased through art work. It's the phoenix to rise from MechScape's canned ashes.

A "public launch" begins next year as closed beta sign-ups are currently running on the Stellar Dawn official website, reports Eurogamer. "Set in an alien star system, Stellar Dawn will offer an exciting multiplayer game experience in your browser," blurbs Jagex.

It seems to offer space exploration to distant worlds, and lots of laser action naturally. Thus far only concept art works have been released for this most ambitious project. Stellar Dawn is likely to be a free-to-play MMO supported by microtransactions.

Wow, the concept art looks astonishing! But "a browser game"? Come on :)

This looks interesting, too bad I don't like the MMO format though. If this is without monthly pay - maybe.

Foolwolf, it is without monthly pay, but they'll be items/subscriptions for purchase. More than likely you'll have to buysomething if you want to gethalf of what they make available or paying customers will have a large advantage.
