A sequel to Need for Speed: Shift has ever so quietly been announced via EA's fiscal line-up, noting that Shift 2 will hit Q4 of this financial year.

That's from January to March 2011 to us in non-fiscal calendar speak. Previously it was online CVs that blew existence of Shift 2; now it's real.

The LinkedIn profiles hinted that this second entry to the Shift spin-off may contain some story focus in the main career mode. Need for Speed: Shift favours the more realistic racing approach than its predecessors. Shift 2 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Have you played Need for Speed: Shift, videogamer? Do you welcome a 2nd?

Shift was OK, good experience and immersion in the races but it definitely did not live up to NFS Underground 1 & 2. :/

you realize that you are comparing two different type of racing games. Shift was a nice change of pace, after the Pro Street fiasco. A clean simulation for enthusiasts, not really for the "only arcade capable" people(no more 90 degrees turns at 300 km/h). And I hear you BoneArc, I didn't play FIFA games for the same reason, lack of free roam... being sarcastic here. So personally I'm waiting to see the improvement in a title with great potential.

Again. Not interested in this genre, and what it's becoming. Only the first NFS games were interesting. The Hot Pursuit stuff. Anyway, I'd rather play some old games than this one :)

True true man. No invention in that genre anymore.
