THQ confirm Red Faction: Battlegrounds, heads to XBLA and PSN

THQ has reveals that the recent domain name snatch of 'redfactionbattlegrounds.com' is because Red Faction: Battlegrounds is in the works.

THQ Digital's creative director Don Whiteford said it was for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. It's an arena-based combat affair.

No release date was attached by the announcement at GDC Europe. The domain was registered by publisher THQ just last week. They're also working of course on Red Faction: Armageddon for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC - as well as with SyFy for a movie.

Guirella is quite good, and Armageddon is looking interesting. I'm curious to see exactly what this battlegrounds game is... Though I probably won't buy it, I don't usually get games off XBLA.

A tunnel game. You are stuck in tunnels with Martians. I don't know id thats fun, but we'll see. I played the older Red Faction games....

Finished RF1 a while ago and its very similar to the orginal Half-Life. I hear Guerrilla is a bit different. Look for some vids and pics and you'll see.

The original games were FPS. The last 2 were TPS - major difference :)

Bah .... next 2 games will be RTS .... XD

then a Turn based Strategy game ... and finally a puzzle game :D

Hehe.. not really, Red Faction will never go RTS on our asses xD I believe they will stick to the TPS type of games. As long as they have a good cover system the game is gonna be at least above average :)
