Director Fumito Ueda says that along with "redone" textures to make the PS2 classics HD, the studio has also added in PS3 trophy hunting.
They'll also support 3D although the team "weren't planning" on it in the beginning. Neither was designed for 3D "but they do fit it well" he said.
"They've become HD, the textures have been redone to go along with that, and also PS3 Trophy support," said director Ueda-san, talking about what changes have been made for the Collection release. It sounds a little like Sony may have pushed for 3D.
"Originally, we weren't planning on making them 3D compatible, but it was decided upon suddenly when we determined compatibility would be a possibility. Neither Ico nor Shadow were made with 3D in mind originally, but they do fit it well I believe," he said.
Team Ico's The Last Guardian, the upcoming PS3 exclusive, may also get some 3D treatment. "We're still looking into this. In its current state, we've pretty much used up the full system specs. However, we'd like people who don't normally play games to play, so if it can reach these people, we'll think about it," explained Ueda-san.
"With this meaning, it's not the case that there is absolutely no plan for support." He echoed similar words for PlayStation Move. "However, even if we did adopt Move, it would be Move compatible, and not exclusive." DualShock 3 fans will be glad to hear that.
Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection releases exclusively on PS3.
