US retailers Amazon and Gamestop have both listed the extremely long-awaited arrival of Duke Nukem Forever as February, but that's not 100%.

Gearbox Software who has taken over the reins to see Duke Nukem get out the door says this is in fact a 'placeholder date' and not official.

Amazon and Gamestop have listed DNF for February 1st, 2011. A Gearbox representative has confirmed this is only a placeholder release date and not what 2K Games and Gearbox have planned necessarily.

Duke Nukem Forever releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC next year - it really does!

Well it will be played predominantly by gamers who were not even around when the Duck (sorry, Duke) was in full flight. Wonder how they'll receive him.
As the "Borderlands GOTY" edition has been announced, it's interesting to see it includes a demo for the Duke.
