Star Wars: The Force Unleashed III not cancelled, "figuring it out"

Project lead Julio Torres dismisses that Force Unleashed III is doomed spelling a new hope (get it?) that the series might get a third instalment.

While not wanting to reveal any spoilers, Torres does say there's plenty of room for more years between Episode III and IV to tap, likely by TFUIII.

"Well I can’t tell you how the game ends because that would ruin it for you, but I can tell you that the timeframe for The Force Unleashed and TFU II is about a year, and there’s still, between that and Episode IV, a couple of years for us to play with,” said Julio Torres.

“So that means no matter how the game ends for Starkiller and Vader for TFU II, we still have some time to figure out how we solidify the canon so that everything makes sense for IV." Series creator Haden Blackman has already left LucasArts.

“Obviously, if that were to be exposed, it would most likely be a TFU III. I’m just afraid I can’t share what that could be yet because we’re still figuring it out. I cautioned that…the key is that, that time is still left," continued the TFUII project lead.

“If we had finished TFU II and we were up against the timeframe, we would probably have been done.” Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC October 26th in the US, and on the 29th in Europe. Demo out next week on XBL and PSN.

All depends on how "II" is received. Personally I hope it does better than the first game.

The game is awesome but much shorter than the first one. I'm playing the PC version and it's optimization is way better than in the first SWTFU. Also the game runs much better and requires considerably much less space on HDD. I hope that there are going to be DLC's for this one as well.
