Bethesda reveals first DLC for Fallout: New Vegas

Bethesda has revealed the first add-on content that will be available for Fallout: New Vegas when it releases on October 22nd in Europe. Exclusively for the Xbox 360, the first DLC will release Christmas 2010.

 
"We're excited to continue the partnership between Bethesda and Microsoft, and build on the success of the game add-ons released for Fallout 3 on Xbox LIVE," said Pete Hines, VP of Marketing and PR of Bethesda Softworks. "Fans will once again be able to continue their experience in the Fallout universe with the add-on packs planned for after the launch of the game."

“Bethesda set a high bar with the quality of the Fallout game add-ons,” said Matt Barlow, General Manager, IEB Product Marketing for Microsoft. “We have no doubt that gamers will be thrilled with seeing a new add-on pack extend their adventures with Fallout: New Vegas on Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE.”

Fallout: New Vegas is set for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Games for Windows on October 19th in North America, October 21st in Australia and on October 22nd in Europe.

There's no word on this DLC coming to the PlayStation 3 or PC in the future, but we've asked Bethesda to comment.

I still need to get around to playing Fallout 3 fully. I don't think I'll ever find the time for these types of games, maybe over Christmas :)

Yeah there is something gruesome about that.

You missed out on Fallout 3. People were devided perhaps but I liked it.

Well I hated "Fallout 3" after about 5 hours. Just too bland and colourless and the bugs awere aplenty (both with the game and the bugs I had to continually shoot). I won't be playing this one as the Oblivion Engine is getting tired and I was never a fan of it anyway.

I did play Fallout 3, it thought it was a good game but it certainly didn't wow me. I'm hoping obsidian can really bring it alive for me with their focus on RPG and Story rather than action like Oblivion and Fallout 3

They should just cut out the ending and make that available as a DLC. I think that's where this path is going.

Remeber all the DLC for "FO 3"? This is just the beginning and I'd be waiting for the inevitable GOTY edition unless you desperately need this game on release.
BTW, "Dragon Age Origins 2" is just around the corner.

The game went gold awhile ago, so they're probably still working on this DLC at the moment. We suspect that it'll be released around Christmas time. Our review will be live at 3pm UK time.

Ok ok ok ..... Fallout has its flaws , but fallout 3 , i played it for about more then 20 hours .... still never got to find DAD but i played over 20 hours .... it was amazing , I WANT MORE !!!!

I have pre-ordered it and only because I have a strong faith in the mod community. Obsidian is like Troika - good ideas but usually bugged software. After some weeks it will most likely be playable. I enjoyed Fallout 3 after I got over it and stopped calling it "Fallout". It is better then Oblivion in many regards, like collect all etc options. Sneaking however is one of the games worst feature and I hope they have really tweaked that so there is a point in getting sneak and Ninja perks...

As it goes for MS Xbox 360 exclusive first DLC... well MS... your support for the PC as a premium gaming platform? - The audience is waiting.....

Oh hardcore mode you rock my world... even thou the game has some bugs from Fallout 3 everthing eles seems alot better.
