They recently unveiled a number of titles and ambitious projects they're bringing to PC, they feel the PC is as relevant as ever.

A number of industry voices have been lending their support to the PC, hoping to buck the recent trend of developers switching to consoles.

"We’ve got lots of stuff coming up on PC and the PC continues to be an important platform for EA," said EA Games’ senior PR director Tammy Schachter.

Peter Moore heading the EA Sports label for Electronic Arts announced that the latest release of Madden NFL won't be touching the PC, which he admitted himself had angered a lot of gamers.

At the annual European showcase EA VP Ray Muzyka gave some demonstrations of the upcoming PC version of BioWare's sci-fi RPG Mass Effect. "What strikes me about these titles is how great the quality is", he said. "I’m proud of these games." EA owns BioWare/Pandemic; the upcoming Mercenaries 2 will also be blasting its way onto PC along with its launch on consoles.

It's great to hear about the big boys in the industry swinging their weight behind the PC.

GamersGate is a platform for downloadable PC games.
