R&D boss Keiji Inafune of Capcom has left the company after serving it for 23 years, noting that reaching the top of it meant he had 'nowhere to go'.

He says he "can not depend" on Capcom and vice versa "from here on out," that they must walk separate paths. Keiji Inafune created Mega Man - top that.

"A manager's work means evaluating your subordinates and speaking your dreams. Anyone who can do both of those can be a manager. I thought that when I came here, and I still think that now," Inafune-san wrote on his blog, in a post titled 'Sayonara'.

"There's nowhere higher for me to go," he said, referring to his top level position at Capcom as their head of R&D. "I'm leaving Capcom with the intention of starting my life over", he continued. Inafune-san declared the Japanese games industry "finished" at last year's Tokyo Game Show, noting his disappoint at seeing the same stuff rehashed.

"People that really know me, can see where I'm coming from. I'm not a regular dude. It's probably because I'm strange." As for where Keiji Inafune will go only he knows for now, as he kept any specific details of his plans close to his chest.

Good luck Keiji 'Mega Man' Inafune.
