Firing up that Xbox 360 today and logging into Xbox Live will hit a snag, but a good one, as Microsoft's autumn dashboard update is finally available.

The more clean and lean digs are in preparation for Kinect's arrival this week in the US and next week for Europe. The Zune Marketplace is now open.

This update comes with some nifty upgrades under the Xbox Live hood, like a much cleaner interface, better Avatar proportions, finally an all-new greater audio codec for voice-chat, a dashboard keyboard, and better wireless networking support.

For Europe the Zune Marketplace also graces us as a major feature allowing users to buy music through Xbox Live individually or through a monthly subscription, and have it all streamed through the Xbox 360. Remember them old blades?

This new dashboard update even comes with a tutorial and a new Terms of Service agreement for you to expectantly ignore and just push 'Accept' to - what an age!

Interesting, the intro music sounds like zelda music!
