Dance Central recalled in the US

Microsoft and partner MTV have recalled stock of the upcoming Kinect title Dance Central in North America for an 'unspecified' misprint in the owner's manual.

“Microsoft has become aware that an update that needs to be made to the product manual (i.e. printed materials) included in the game entitled Dance Central developed by MTV/Harmonix and distributed by Microsoft.”

“To ensure we provide our customers with the best experience possible, Microsoft is updating the product manual and replacing all retail copies of Dance Central," a statement released to Joystiq read.

Despite this however, Microsoft reassures everyone that retail stores will have enough replacement stock in time for its November 4th release.

Interesting that there are problems even before launch. Makes one wonder what other glitches are in store for this one. Still, a launch title i thought would have been more intersting than dancing for Kinect. I'd rather go out thanks.

They ought to make sure things like the game manual are done right the first time.

This isn't the first time a game's been recalled because of Manual problems. There was one a year ago...can't remeber which one it was, but caused a stir.

I remember a misprint in a cooking book.
'...and freshly ground black people'
That obviously needed to be black pepper. XD

I feel sorry for people who would rather dance in front of the screen instead of dancing at real event.

This is the real obstacle that I believe Kinect and Move will face, far more than the Wii mote. Most gamers are more than happy to sit and play a game. Jumping up and down and actually doing exercise just to play agame...erghhhh!

I am an armchair general, emphasis on the chair. I agree.

Right. If I play a game I won't to relax while I am doing it.

I don't know about anyone else, but when I lob a grenade in a FPS I like to just click my mouse, not put my shoulder out. If I want to do the latter, I'd re-enlist in the Army Reserve. Can't beat RL experiences, and these new "gadgets" concern me in that it will only keep 'young-uns' from going outside and doing the real thing as they should.

I must agree on the statements from above ;) Great points there ;)

I have to agree. The "Make you more active Wii" is most often played on the couch anyway. Not sure how long Kinect players will go until they get lazy again.

15min....for the active ones. The rest will start on the couch after being dragged into it by other people. That's what happened to me with the wii
