Battlefield Play4Free announced

EA has announced Battlefield Play4Free today, a brand new PC game in the series that's completely free but supported by optional microtransactions.

It's a "deep PC shooter" says EA that's got Battlefield's "signature" vehicle warfare and sandbox gameplay; it supports 32-players. Beta sign-ups live.

It's a "next-generation free to play Battlefield" with "32-player all out warfare online" where you can "experience the career of a professional soldlier", reads the website. EA already has a F2P Battlefield game called Heroes that launches through the browser.

"We broke new ground in 2009 with the launch of Battlefield Heroes; a game that has 6M registered players worldwide. Now we are complementing that arcade shooter with a core, realistic Battlefield shooter experience that fans have been clamouring for,” said senior producer, James Salt. Play4Free 'combines' Battlefield 2 and Bad Company 2.

"Battlefield Play4Free is for serious shooter fans who are looking for a premium — but free — experience that rivals top console titles.” It uses the “most popular maps” from BF2 and "the familiar classes and powerful weapons” of BFBC2.

Beta sign-ups have begun on the official website with the beta itself scheduled for November 30th, it is believed. Check out the debut trailer for Battlefield Play4Free.

Oh how this makes me miss the dusty street of Strike at Karkand. I hope my old pc can play this, because this game looks to be enjoyable.

BoneArc the sound track of Battlefield 2 is the best one out there and this is proof.
As for the game "HELL YEAAH" mmofps an improvement from Battlefield Heroes, if i'm not mistaking this will fund the upcoming Battlefield 3, only if they will implement a cash shop, witch it's inevitable gona get, just like Need For Speed World Online.

Seems to be the trend for RTS's, RPG's and now FPS's now. Wonder how "CoD Online" will stand up to this new craze of F2P MMO's. I just hope the game won't be full of base-rapers and spawn-campers as with "BF 2".

I Play BF heroes and although being free, its still a good gaming experience, so, why should this be a little different from that? I hope it doesn't get bashed by 13 year olds of course, instead it could grow a mature stabilized gaming community :)

I's like BF:BC2 m24 anims, Medal of Honor m249 anims on BF2 graphics, but i have one issue LAGG. I'm from Romania and i have a felling that the beta servers are US and hell there is one BIG ocean that separates us.
For now it's nice ^_^
