SEGA has announced the release date for the next instalment in the classic Total War strategy series.

A re-make of the very first game in the franchise, Creative Assembly will be releasing Shogun 2: Total War on March 15th 2011.

We got a sneak-peak of the game in August, which you can read about here.

The game features an improved 3D engine, another brand new AI system, and of course ninja-assassin videos.

I remember playing the very first "S:TW" on it's release day and it brought my current PC to it's knees. If I don't upgrade, this will do the same as "NTW" is already pushing my rig to it's limits.
From what I've seen and not forgetting how the hype for "ETW" didn't match the release, I'm still hopeful this will be the TW game we've all been waiting for. If so, roll on "Rome 2 Total War", or better still "M3TW"".

I'm putting my money on Rome 2, cause the original Rome: TW is what made me love strategy titles.
