Germany's USK says nein to Splatterhouse, banned from selling

The German ratings board USK is not impressed with Splatterhouse and have refused to classify it for sale, thus rendering the title banhammered.

The ultra-violent Xbox 360 and PS3 game was just too much and so won't be releasing November 26th, unlike most other places on planet Earth.

Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops even had to have a localised version for Germany because it rubbed too many German officials the wrong way. Namco Bandai I'm sure expected to have their Splatterhouse banned from sale in Germany, so no loss.

Splatterhouse releases on Xbox 360 and PS3 November 26th. What violence?

And I thought the Australian OFLC was tough. This should see this game being banned here now, however.

A pal in Germany says that a fresh debate has opened on the censorship of violent games there, as they are getting so many cut-down jobs of those that are passed. Changes may be afoot...
