BioWare has Mass Effect spin-off?

Recently BioWare posted an image which was a barcode, and some other teases shortly after. All this apparently points to 'steel' and temperatures.

A source claims this is all related to BioWare Montreal's multiplayer-orientated Mass Effect spin-off project. This is not an MMO but 'Call of Duty like'.

It's no secret that BioWare is developing Mass Effect 3 which sees the trilogy conclusion of Commander Shephard saving (hopefully) the galaxy from a cycle of extinction. However the studio has alluded in the past that Mass Effect isn't all about Shephard.

BioWare Montreal revealed a while back that they were looking for multiplayer programmers to "take existing single player user experiences and make them multiplayer safe." Very recently EA said "something far-reaching coming from Mass Effect" arrives in 2011.

This ME shooter will adopt player progression online in similar fashion to how Call of Duty operates, except BioWare doubtlessly want their own spin on it. Thanks to Mass Effect's very nature we could get to play levels based virtually anywhere in the galaxy.

Does an online shooter in the Mass Effect universe intrigue you, videogamer?

I could see a ME style multiplayer shooter doing well. It has the numbers behind it and a AAA feel and team. Level up your guy, choose from different races with faction specific gear that you can unlock as you level, maybe even some vehicles for good measure?

Bring it on!

So n ot an MMO, but more like "CoD"? But "CoD" is doinbg an MMO. More likely it will be like "Crysis Warhead" or "Order of War: Challenge".
