GC 2008: EA announces release date for Sims 3, February 20th

EA announced today that The Sims 3 will be released globally on February 20th, 2009 for PC.

This information was announced at the Leipzig Game Convention during an EA press conference this morning. EA also revealed a Collector's Edition that will be available in retail stores on the same date, and will include the full game along with Sims merchandise and an in-game Italian sports car as an exclusive item.

Atari and Red Mile Entertainment are bringing Heroes over Europe, a realistic tactical flight combat game, to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in 2009.

The sequel to the mighty World War II flight combat game Heroes of the Pacific, Heroes over Europe takes aspiring combat pilots into the bullet-ridden heart of major World War II European air battles in glorious dogfight-friendly high definition. Heroes over Europe follows the Allied campaign from the attacks on London to the destruction of Berlin, with players under orders to strap themselves into the authentically rendered cockpits of the campaign’s iconic aircraft. Their mission: to survive the most ferocious dogfights ever seen in a flight combat game.

Sports Interactive's Football Manager Live "pretty close" now

The online MMO simulation of the Football Manager series, which has been on the bench just itching to get on the pitch, is nearing 'completion' says Miles Jacobson.

In an interview with Evo Gamer, Sports Interactive's Jacobson says the game will likely "never be 'finished'" in the traditional sense, with content updates "every few months".

During Activision's unofficial E3 Press conference on Tuesday evening, two developers commented about future Guitar Hero games being compatible with other instruments that haven't been designed with Guitar Hero in mind, like Rock Band's instruments.

During Microsoft's E3 2008 Press Conference, it was revealed that Lips, the Karaoke/dancing game from Elite Beat Agents developer iNiS is in development exclusively to the Xbox 360.

Shane Kim promises that it will bring “A brand new party game experience," and will ship this fall, bundled with a pair of light-equipped, motion sensing wireless microphones. The game will also allow gamers to import their own songs from a Zune or iPod.

Following our string of live updates, we give you Microsoft’s announcement of a new interface coming this Autumn for all 360 users.

Dubbed the “new xbox live experience”, this new interface will be modelled along similar lines as the expected PS3 ‘Home’ system.

The new interface will include ‘Avatars’ (more realistic looking Mii’s), video and picture sharing, along with a load more community based options.

Buzz! Quiz TV fans are becoming increasingly disappointed with the latest iteration of the franchise on the PS3.

Not only will the game require a patch to enable trophies that will be coming with the latest firmware patch, but it is also lacking some of the key features that made the previous games so enjoyable.
