Microsoft has finally opened the doors to its online bazaar of gaming content, but this time it's for PC gamers and not those shifty console customers.
Currently the North American marketplace has a Viva Pinata PC demo available while Europe gets a Kane & Lynch one instead. It'll also include game DLC, videos and more. | |

The independent juggernaut developer Valve has published some of their retail numbers but is still keeping digital units sold under wraps.
They have a definite Half-Life theme as there's no listing of Left 4 Dead and also the figures don't include PC versions of Team Fortress 2, Portal and Half-Life 2: Episode 2. | |

Ex-Sony and SingStar lady Paulina Bozek started work at Atari six months ago and they're keeping her new project a big secret, but Bozek reveals at least it's multiplatform.
She teased at the Atari event in London that she's working on something "brand new" and that its "very much" a social game. Bozek has been given the lead to setup Atari London. | |

Microsoft Game Studios' Kudo Tsunoda has said he finds it the "best place" there is for creative minds to be "supported" by game makers.
He reveals that Sony wasn't alluring enough compared to what Microsoft had to offer when he left publishing giant EA. So "why the heck would" he not want to work at MGS? | |

According to Pioneer these new discs are thanks to a "breakthrough in material of reflective layers." The 400GB discs have 16 different layers to them.
The best part is they claim compatibility with current Blu-ray Disc players which hopefully includes the PlayStation 3's own hardware. This new "super" disc coming in 2010. | |

Gabe Newell, president of Valve no less, has replied to a fan by email that reportedly makes Newell's stance on PC DRM tactics quite clear indeed; "just dumb."
He argues the goal should be making it easier for gamers to play their games, and not "decreasing the value of a product" by having DRM that might not let them at all. | |

Talking with Forbes, 2K Boston's Ken Levine has asked for the industry to start working on making the PC market more "broadly successful". Levine finds that he is more comfortable when sitting with a mouse and keyboard two inches away from the monitor. "I wish the industry could find a way to make PC gaming more broadly successful," said Levine. "There are so many challenges for PC gaming - the complications from systems specifications to the drivers - most people look at PC games and say, 'What are you talking about?'" | |
