EA Sports boss Peter Moore is defending the sports genre by saying it's often criticised for a "lack of creativity." There is only so much they can do after all.

Moore also dismisses the notion that 'boxing is dead' by chest thumping Fight Night Champion, and urges "all of the "'haters'" to give it a try.

Bless those DICE developers because the digital release of Battlefield 1943 only went and pulled in revenue of $16m for EA, launching on XBLA and PSN.

There's still a PC version coming apparently. The other top performer was FIFA Ultimate Team DLC cashing up $45m in profit for FIFA 09 and 10.

Published EA have been busy stamping their name on several SSX website domains, and they give away subtitles 'Deadly Descent' and 'First Descent'.

These 5 new sites would suggest a SSX entry or two from EA, don't you think? Thanks Internet. The arcade snowboarding franchise hasn't wiped out yet.

EA Sports are celebrating FIFA 11's global launch as it clears $150m in sales its first week making it the largest sports videogame release ever.

Over 2.6m copies were sold its opening week with the first 2 days of FIFA 11 on sale being EA Sports busiest online with over 18.6m sessions.

The in-game rating system for 2K Sports' NBA 2K11 had one Washington Wizards center a little upset, he was a mere 59, but now he's flexing at 64.

Yeah those numerical digits mean a lot to professional types and 2K Sports says if others "have an issue" to drop them a twitter. Moaning = adjustment.

A study commissioned by EA for Gatorade reveals that in-game ad campaigns boosted product sales by 24 percent, in select EA Sports title.

100k households were quizzed that bought at least 1 of 6 EA Sports games, and noted their consumer habits before and after Gatorade adverts.

Beautiful Game Studios has put the PC Championship Manager series "on hold" while the developer looks to build their business up elsewhere.

Boss Roy Meredith says the "decline in boxed copies" for PC is too dangerous, so they're looking to iPhone and MMO. Unsure when it will be back.

Huge overhauls to PES are being lauded by Konami who has just dated PES 2011 for October 8th in the UK for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

The PS2, PSP and Wii versions will arrive later in October. The studio has put in "truly open gameplay" this time around, it "has to be experienced".

EA Sports boss Peter Moore says you should "never say never" but right now the FIFA franchise won't be doing motion tech or any 3D.

There's a lack of "obvious relevance" of those techs to FIFA right now, and even calls it "disruptive". It's too gimmicky and mini-game like.

The 'Manager Mode' introduced by FIFA 10 wasn't well received and so EA Sports have ditched it in favour of a new 'Career Mode' instead.

Footballers created in FIFA 11's Creation Centre will be available to manage in Career Mode, which includes leaderboards among friends.

There's to be no dumbing down of FIFA 11 when it arrives on PC the same time as its console cousins, pledges EA Sports; a full package.

It "took two years" but they're finally "able to deliver" the next-gen experience on desktop as well as console. The game boots out October 1st.

Publisher EA is being sued by California-based Active Network because they claim 'Active' is theirs to use for sporty products, and EA is stealing.

That's the gist of it anyway. Now that EA's Sports Active has online features the Active Network feels threatened and wants 'Active' removed.
