Resistance 2 beta pushed back to early October reveals Sony

The upcoming multiplayer beta for PS3 exclusive Resistance 2 won't be arriving this month at all now as it'll be debuting early next month instead.

Gamers can get in on the action if you've pre-ordered from GameStop or have subscribed for episode 3 of Qore - US only I'm afraid. Beta sign-ups will get access later.

Producer Jun Takeuchi has revealed that gamers and fans shouldn't be all that "surprised" to find a new control scheme for Resi 5 at this year's Tokyo Game Show.

He added that he wouldn't be "confirming or denying anything" but later he did let slip that the new scheme would be "Gears-like", presumably to ramp up the action.

Blizzard's revival of the cult classic real-time strategy StarCraft won't be stuffed in the back of Santa's sleigh this year but will hopefully arrive in '09.

This is in no way a definite certainty though as Blizzard are sticklers for quality and won't release early, or at the behest of Activision Blizzard, if they don't want to.

With Diablo III still at the grindstone Blizzard has also been hard at work on the new Battle.net code which will help eliminate scurvy cheaters.

A lot of the lessons have been learned from World of Warcraft as Blizzard is locked in a never ending battle with exploiters. Cheat prevention is one of their "biggest focuses."

From Software are bringing Ninja Blade, a modern day ninja-fest in Tokyo to the Xbox 360 complete with blood thirsty monsters.

The player assumes the role of Ken whose learning the ways of the ninja as he battles a parasitic plague in Tokyo which will be "around 12 or more hours" of gameplay.

According to LOTRO's executive producer Jeffrey Steefel the Tolkien based onliner is the one with the best shot at achieving a "mass-market critical mass" after Blizzard.

In his interview with Eurogamer, Steefel also says the current subscription model for LOTRO is unlikely to survive forever - "it has to change." LOTRO on console too?

Dark Motif has told Strategy Informer that it has decided to postponed Adam Syndrome to Q3 2009, as the team has plans to turn development from a modest budget title, to a full scale project. This means the game design will be enhanced, special effects added and more advanced features will be implemented.

Media Molecule reveals that avid and talented creators for the upcoming LittleBigPlanet PS3 exclusive could land themselves a payroll on the team.

Producer Pete Smith said they'll be "watching it closely" as it's a great way for the team to "recruit great new designers." Others might at least be "commissioned".

EA has laughed off accusations that it's some psychological or propaganda device preparing the West for an invasion of the country; "you have to remind yourself it's a damned video game."

While the first game did eventually make its way to keyboard and mouse, Bleszinski seems quite adamant that GoW2 won't follow.

He says that Gears of War is "first and foremost" a great franchise for Xbox 360 and that's why they're not going to bother with a port "this time around," pity.
