Analyst: Suspension is building for a "pre-E3 GTA V announcement"

Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey has said how "there is building suspension" for Rockstar to formally announce GTA V before E3.

They "expect nothing" from the studio on the game at E3 itself though, and believe V will "significantly outsell" IV, thanks to "sales acceleration".

The court battle between publisher Activision and ex-Infinity Ward bosses Vince Zampella and Jason West is heating up, and it hasn't started yet.

According to internal Acti memos, the two were in communication with "but not limited to" EA, as well as talking with IW devs to form a new studio.

Publisher Ubi has announced it is to enter two more sports genres, skateboarding and football, with game releases coming this year.

Pure Football is a 5-a-side deal with no ref or any rules, featuring big names. 23 year-old Shaun White says his game will "melt minds."

Platinum Games' upcoming sci-fi shooter Vanquish began development on PC but then moved to PlayStation 3, where it now focuses.

A launch for PC though remains "undecided at this point". If they can produce a "good enough" PS3 version they'll be off "to a good start."

Through Microsoft's 'Xbox Special Mission Division' PR campaign in Japan, they have revealed a new east-Asia title will be named soon.

The Japanese advert shows a new deal has been signed but nothing specific is given away, except for a crudely drawn robot on some paper.

Sydney-based company Depth Analysis is behind MotionScan, a 3D motion-capture system being used by Team Bondi for Rockstar's L.A. Noire.

It's had "radical impact" on captured performances from actors. It uses 32 HD cameras and captures "mannerism, and facial nuance" accurately.

So impressed with the sci-fi RPG shooter is publisher Take-Two that they want even more DLC packaged for the over 2 million sold IP.

Borderlands has had three pieces release so far with each selling well. Developer Gearbox is also hard at work for Sega's Aliens game.

According to 'the scene', the latest Silent Hunter game which was packing Ubisoft's new enforced login DRM has been 'cracked' already.

This comes a day after its release, with those responsible claiming you need only install it and "copy crack, it's that simple!" Poor Ubisoft.

Gearbox Software's Borderlands is doing super well for a new IP that launched last October, with Take-Two's CFO saying it's still going.

The RPG shooter has now sold over 2 million copies worldwide, and it "continues to sell well" even today. More DLC is expected for it now.

Indie studio IllFonic are chiselling pixels away to bring sci-fi first-person shooter 'Nexuiz' to Xbox 360 and PS3, "completely updating" the visuals.

It's a free arena shooter released on PC in 2005, with over 4m unique downloads. It's "extremely competitive" say devs, and at GDC 2010.

According to ads in India for Batman: Arkham Asylum's Game Of The Year edition, it will be getting the full console 3D treatment this March.

It includes Trioviz 3D tech with two sets of 3D glasses, as well as 6 new challenge maps though some are already available. Out this month?
