Microsoft announced today that this week's Xbox Live Arcade releases will be Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 and Frogger 2, both to be available this Wednesday for 800 Microsoft Points on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Square Enix revealed at Microsoft's Xbox 360 RPG Premiere 2008 event in Tokyo that Infinite Undiscovery will be released in Europe on September 5th, with North Amierca on September 2nd and Japan on September 11th.

No other details have been revealed yet.

Square Enix confirmed at Microsoft's Xbox 360 RPG Premiere 2008 event in Tokyo that Star Ocean 4's official title will be Star Ocean The Last Hope.

Nothing was announced about the game being released as an Xbox 360 exclusive, only that it'll be coming in 2009.

Microsoft's Xbox 360 RPG Premiere 2008 event in Tokyo, which we reported about yesterday, has started and the first few bits of new information is starting to appear.

Namco confessed to attendees that a demo for the RPG Tales of Vesperia will be released on Xbox Live this month, but it's not yet known which countries it'll be available in – could very well be Japan only for the time being.

Ripten claims that the Xbox Live Arcade will get the Metal Gear treatment soon, with the original Metal Gear Solid appearing on the service. No release date has been given, and no official announcement has been made so treat this as a rumour until we find out more.

2K Games announced today that its developing Sid Meier’s Civilization IV: Colonization, the next offering in the Civilization IV universe. Conceived from the ground up to take advantage of the Civilization IV engine, Colonization will be available fall 2008 exclusively for Games for Windows.

Chris Taylor of Gas Powered Games has told CVG that the comments he made about Dungeon Siege 3 being a single character role doesn't mean the game is actually in development, and that nothing official is going to be made as the team are at the idea stage.

At an "RPG Premiere" being held later today Microsoft will announce their role-playing plans to the conference in Shibuya, Japan.

They're expected to reveal at least two Square Enix titles at the event and possibly even Blue Dragon's Mistwalker studio to showcase their next creations.

A film about the founding of Atari, one of the most known houses in the videogames industry, is getting a silver screen adaption - a biopic of Nolan Bushnell.

Bushnell co-founded the company in 1972 along with Ted Dabney which led to the rise of the videogame worldwide. Pong anyone?

The first details on Call of Duty 5: World at War have been revealed by a UK magazine called gamesTM. The issue which was published today claims that the game is going to be grittier, have scarier enemies with new tactics and contain co-op modes.

LucasArts have quelled fears for the next Indy game which features NaturalMotion's Euphoria animation engine, arriving on Xbox360 and PS3.

Despite the recent job losses at the company they're confirming the project is remaining in-house with their San Francisco team.

Activision is soon to reveal the upcoming Call of Duty 5, from developers Treyarch, for the first time though exactly how remains unclear.

Infinity Ward are sitting this one out as Treyarch get their turn behind the wheel, it's believed that COD5 will be revisiting the trench lines of the second World War.

Update: PlayTM magazine stats that Call of Duty 5 will be called Call of Duty: World at War and is set in the Pacific part of WWII

Alone in the Dark goes Gold

Atari announced today that development of Alone in the Dark is now complete and is ready to start shipping to Europe on 20th June and 24th June in North America. It'll be released on the Xbox 360, PC, Wii and PS2 with a PS3 version coming in autumn.

The corporate giant is keeping any word on their next Xbox console generation a very low key topic of discussion; they expect the Xbox 360 to have a long cycle.

"It's a continuous process," said Robbie Bach, president of the entertainment and devices division. "We're always thinking about new ideas and new things."
