Publisher EA has agreed to distribute the latest Rock Band title, all about those Green Day punks, on behalf of MTV Games and Harmonix.

Recently EA revealed its distribution deal with MTV Games runs out by March end, and they're unlikely to renew it. A band split, how cliche.

Developer Bungie has allayed fan fears for the Halo franchise, first by dispelling rumours it will come packed with Natal - to stay traditional.

The second is that the team won't revisit Halo for some 3D work, in fact Halo: Reach is Bungie's own "final conclusion" in the Halo saga.

The PC community is none too pleased with developer 2K Marin right now, for two big reasons. No native controller or widescreen support.

EA has noticed the PC community is a little upset over no Dead Space 2 for their rigs, and so developer Visceral say it's "under consideration."

That's by no means a concrete PC release, but it's better than the "not in the plan" remark earlier by an EA rep. It was originally coming to PC.

CEO John Riccitiello and other big execs at EA brainstormed, and thought up Project 10 Dollar. In a nutshell it's ME2's Cerberus Network.

Basically new EA titles will include redeem codes for extra content, but second-hand buyers will have to pay around $10 for access to it.

During the company's first quarter 2010 earnings call, Disney CEO Bob Iger has revealed that the firm plans to publish fewer titles for “high-end” systems, putting more focus on casual markets such as the iPhone and iTouch.

"It is pretty clear that the higher end console games are a little bit more challenged in the world where not only they are more costly to produce and market, but there is just much more competition from casual games and games on platforms like the iPhone iTouch platform," said Iger.

Analysts predicts "15-25" 3D titles in 2010, grows to "35-50" for 2011

Insight Media believe that this year won't sign off without at least 15 stereoscopic 3D titles, with that figure doubling for next year's line-up.

Analyst Dale Maunu also says console gamers will get a "fairly consistent" 3D experience, regardless of their 3D compatible TV.

DFC Intelligence estimates Mass Effect 2 from BioWare moved 1.1m units, compared with its closest competitor, Army of Two, at just 175k.

The 40th Day, also from publisher EA, just couldn't cut it. Capcom's Dark Void pulled in 22,000 with THQ's Darksiders at 150k say DFC.

John Schappert of publishing giant EA has declared that every title of theirs launching in fiscal 2011 will have "an online component".

In the form of DLC and "online play," and they'll continue to provide incentives to "benefit unique registered purchasers" for PC and console.

During a presentation speech to new graduates in Tokyo, Level-5 boss Akihiro Hino revealed they've got some titles in the works.

PS3 and Wii titles to be exact. White Knight Story 2 is already official and for PS3, with Inazuma Eleven Break! believed for Wii.

Last month Square Enix boss Yoichi Wada cast doubt whether they repeat "this type of game" internally, referring to Final Fantasy XIII.

Wada-san noted the team should move on to "create and generate" next-gen "forms of play." Yoshinori Kitase doesn't quite understand.
