Serious Sam HD releases this Wednesday on Xbox Live Marketplace

Major Nelson has confirmed that Serious Sam HD will be available to download from the Xbox Live Marketplace this Wednesday for 1200 MS Points.

The PC version was released on November 24, 2009, so Xbox 360 gamers have had quite a long wait for it.

Leaked footage of Sega and Obsidian's cancelled Aliens RPG has hit the internet.

The game was going to be released on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, but the developer confirmed last year that it wouldn't be working on the title anymore.

Japanese developer Feelplus Inc., who helped Mistwalker with Xbox 360's Lost Odyssey, has job posts looking for more game talent.

They're working on a "large scale RPG" for the platform. The studios owner, AQ Interactive, is looking for a 'Game Designer' for 3D motion.

Last week it was announced that PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain, from developer Quantic Dreams, would hit US store shelves February 23rd.

Now Europe has its dates etched in stone, with mainland Europe getting it one day later on the 24th. The UK meanwhile has to wait till the 26th.

French site NoFrag claims to have juicy quotes from an inside source, and they apparently divulge that Blizzard is working on a sci-fi MMOFPS.

Blizz have themselves confirmed their new MMO is totally different from World of Warcraft, and something not tied to any existing IP they have.

Film director guy Neill Blomkamp gave us the sci-fi 'District 9' last year, the movie born from Hollywood's failure to get Halo on the red carpet.

Blomkamp admits he's a gamer but the idea of turning District 9 into a game "stresses me out a little", all because these tie-ins "rarely work."

Developer Liquid Entertainment wants a "temporary jr. programmer" to join them in Southern California, for work on their browser game.

The temp will deal with "various aspects" of the plug-in title, but mostly handling "browser integration." Liquid call Pasadena, CA home.

Microsoft's senior director of Xbox product management, David Hufford has told The Guardian that there is "no need" to launch a new Xbox console, because it can be injected with new life by software or hardware upgrades like Project Natal.


"I think it's important to say that the Xbox 360 is the console of the long future for us,"
said Hufford. "There is no need to launch a new console, because we're able to give this console new life either with software upgrades or hardware upgrades like Project Natal."

Casey Hudson of BioWare has said one of the "big improvements" with Mass Effect 2 is the support they built for new downloadable content.

In fact the first piece will be "pretty shortly after" its release later this month. The studio has already begun work on Mass Effect 3's story.

EA's upcoming Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will have its online beta kick off on PC this January 28th, where it will run until February 25th.

That's one whole month with its map, Port Valdez, supporting 32 players in the game mode 'Rush'. Pre-order it to get a beta place.

Rebellion has confirmed that a demo for Aliens vs. Predator will be released, although no specific platforms have been mentioned.

The corporate giant Microsoft has decided to ditch a separate and internal chip for Project Natal, instead choosing to rely on the software.

That means spare processing power of the Xbox 360 will handle the needs of Natal, and it won't mess up latency times. Cheaper for us then?
