Halo developer Bungie is tired of living in the shadow of their super creation, starring a certain Master Chief, and wants some new IP.

It now looks like they were being serious, not just dramatic and diva-like. They've got job ads up with the 'writing lead' the most telling.

Splash Damage's Brink slips from spring, will now release fall 2010

The sci-fi shooter from developer Splash Damage and Bethesda, the one blending single and multiplayer, has been delayed till late 2010.

It was due in spring on all three platforms but a new video of Brink tells a different story. The clip shows their S.M.A.R.T. movement system.

THQ reveals date for Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising

THQ has announced that the stand-alone Dawn of War II expansion "Chaos Rising" will be released in Europe on 12th March, 2010 and in the US on 11th March, 2010.

Chaos Rising offers new single-player and co-op campaigns, a level cap increase from 20 to 30, more powerful war-gear and a suite of innovative multiplayer options.

Kalypso Media announces expansion pack for Grand Ages: Rome

Kalypso Media today announced Reign of Augustus, the official expansion pack to Grand Ages: Rome.

Set for release on January 2010 for PC via digital distribution stores, Reign of Augustus will include a brand new campaign comprising of 12 missions, new maps and a wealth of enhanced gameplay features.

Ubisoft has announced that Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is in development for consoles and will be released in May 2010. This latest instalment in the Prince of Persia franchise marks the return of the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time storyline.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands will feature many of the fan-favorite elements from the original series as well as new gameplay innovations.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle , the new Wii game to grace our palettes, contains plenty of the good stuff of a mature label variety.

That's according to the ESRB scribbling, which cite things like "sliced in-half" and "chopped off" in the games description. Awesome.

Publisher Ubi is super confident that the future of videogames, and indeed movies, lies with the third-dimension. Avatar is their first 3D game.

It's based on the James Cameron film, with assets of both shared since the beginning. It's out this December 4th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Codemasters has revealed that Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will be getting its second DLC pack offering soon; details scarce.

It will sport "amongst other things" more multiplayer modes, as that's what fans have been "very much asking for" said Codies Ian Webster.

The internal company magazine doing the rounds at Square Enix doesn't have The Last Remnant for PS3, although the official site does.

This could be the first steps by the publisher in quietly binning the project. The magazine issue is vol.13, and is not meant for our eyes.

Ex-Silicon artist Zhang Shao-yong has an online work profile, and in it (via Chinese) is mentioned a game called 'The Box' for next-gens.

The visual effects artist worked on "explosions, smoke, water, fire" and even the weather. According Dyack in '08, it's nothing "ever made before."

Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward has let the Internet know that the "Steam ban hammer" has whacked down on about "2,500 confirmed" heads.

This is one of the reason they moved from dedicated servers, argues the studio, to slap cheaters down faster. Let's hope they were right.

A major update is now live for LittleBigPlanet patching in things like 4-player co-op level building, where it could only handle 2-player before.

Matchmaking based on location is in, a better save system that keeps profiles and levels, plus tons of other little things by the LBP studio.

The planet Alderaan is well known among Star Wars fans, and now developer BioWare has unveiled its presence in Star Wars The Old Republic.

Before the Death Star went 'pew pew' on it, Alderaan was a haven for democracy and Greenpeace protesters, "a vision of utopia" they say.

Developer Sports Interactive have said "early results are looking good" for their patch solution to Football Manager 2010's major issues.

It's all to do with big memory leaks which cause the game to crash after 4 or 5 hours. The team is "by no means" ready to update globally yet.

According to a BBC source of The Telegraph, the free BBC iPlayer service which is currently available to PS3 won't be coming to Xbox 360.

It's because the BBC want it offered freely to users, whereas Microsoft want it restricted to Gold Live subscribers, and they "will not budge".

Microsoft has its thinking cap on with all those who can't make it to videogame conventions, like E3, somehow making it after all. Well, sort of.

A survey shows they've got a free virtual convention service in mind for Xbox Live, letting users experience "online versions" with avatars.

According to Gearbox captain Randy Pitchford, their 2002 007 Nightfire game was very nearly bullet free, no thanks to a Bond film producer.

Pitchford describes her as not wanting the Bond game "to be violent," and how they fought to keep in x-ray specs for peeking at the ladies.
