Vigil's Darksiders attracts "interest from Hollywood", comic is likely

It's not even out the door yet and already Hollywood want to plunder its riches, though it's "really a THQ thing" and not developer Vigil's doing.

Joe Madureira is creative director at Vigil, and says he'd be "surprised" if nothing came of it. Darksiders is out this week for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Dark Void demo planned for this week

Capcom has announced that a demo for Dark Void will be released this Wednesday on Xbox Live and Thursday on the PlayStation Network.

"The demo will give gamers a chance to strap on their jet pack for the first time and explore the mysterious and miraculous world of Dark Void through a combination of thrilling aerial dog-fighting, unique vertical cover action and on-foot combat." said the firm.

Painkiller developer People Can Fly, owned by Epic Games since August '07, has recently put their claim to 'Bulletstorm' - so it has guns then?

The Polish team have been mining pixels on a new action game since August '08 and this could be it. It's believed for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

The first details on Fallout: New Vegas have emerged from the Gamespot forums, supplied by an Internet user who claims the information is from a trusted source.

The user claims that the information will appear in the next issue of the US mag Game Informer, although Bethesda refuses to comment on this.

Lost Planet 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Monster Hunter Tri and Dead Rising 2 have all been strategically re-placed "across all four quarters".

That's the quarters of Capcom's fiscal 2011, which begins April 1st. To tide us over we have Dark Void this January 15th, the one with jetpacks.

Take-Two's Strauss Zelnick has said during their investor call that more success would have come from GTA IV's DLC had it been closer.

They and Microsoft saw "a big market" for episodic content, but their release was "significantly after" GTA IV. Missed the momentum.

Strauss Zelnick is CEO of publisher Take-Two and he's dished at their latest investor call that crime-riddled Mafia II will be here Q3, 2010.

That's anytime between May 1st and July 31st next year. Sadly Take-Two aren't that good for keeping their release window promises.

Star Wars The Force Unleashed was handled by LucasArts devs, but they mostly got laid off when the game finished. So who has the sequel?

According to LucasArts el presidente Darrell Rodriguez, they've got an "internal team" on it along with "other development partners."

Ubisoft has revealed additional details on the recently announced Assassin's Creed II DLC, giving dates and prices for both packs.

The Battle of Forli is the first pack and hits late January for $3.99. Your mission will be to defend Forli from the Orsi brothers with the aid of Caterina Sforza and Machiavelli. Six new memories are featured, with the flying machine making a return too.

Bethesda takes over publishing rights for Rage

ZeniMax Media announced today that it has acquired the publishing rights for Rage, the latest project in development at id Software.

This means that EA will not be involved with sales and marketing, as Rage will now be published by Bethesda Softworks.

Tony Hawk, the man not the game, has defended the board peripheral that's packed with Tony Hawk RIDE, the game not the man. Phew.

It's an investment in the future for "other board-type games" he says, not "some gimmick" you need to re-buy every year. Bridges reality?

Those mayhem inducing duo, Salem and Rios, will be on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network this Thursday in The 40th Day demo.

It lets you play most of the first level, which sees the Army of Two stuck in Shanghai as it comes under attack. PSP demo on Jan. 14th.

During the VGAs, which is hosted by Spike TV, they decided to announce their own Deadliest Warrior show will be going videogame.

Deadliest Warrior: The Game will have global fighting techniques square off against each other just like on the show. Knight vs. Ninja!

You knew it was coming, Ubi knew it too. The Splinter Cell: Conviction CE will go on sale alongside the standard Xbox 360 and PC copies.

So what's it got? The game, a Sam statue crushing some goggles, an official soundtrack with "more than 17 tracks" and a steelbook case.

In May 2010 we get 'Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands' from Ubisoft, and they've decided to start dishing out the game details.

It's a total blockbuster with "epic wow moments" to survive as we try to save our brother's Kingdom from ruin. Expect "huge-scale" combat.

Developer Propaganda is handling the new Tron: Evolution from Disney Interactive, which is "one of the keys" to unlocking Tron mythology.

The game takes place before the Tron: Legacy movie, with the collaboration between the two projects "exceptional" said a producer.

Publisher Acti is releasing United Front's True Crime instalment when it's finished, who have taken over from past developer Luxoflux.

It's set in a Shanghai infested with Triad, and stars us as the undercover cop sent to infiltrate and take them all down. Kung-fu a given.

The star of the first game is back, duel wielding lightsabers and entering a coliseum arena, but not before Yoda and Vader spout warnings.

Dante's Inferno sequel on the cards, if first game is well received

In an interview with Strategy Informer, Visceral Game's Senior Producer Juston Lambros suggested that a sequel to Dante's Inferno will be developed if the first game is well received. The sequel would probably look at Dante's Journey through the other areas of afterlife.

"Hopefully things will go well and people will like it and so a sequel will make sense. So I think we'd probably be looking at Dante's Journey through the other areas of the Afterlife - I think it would be a great thing for us to tackle." said Lambros.
