Levine's new game "substantially more ambitious" than BioShock

2K Boston and Ken Levine's new project, which they're staying shhh about, is packing a greater scope and ambition than the plasmid theme park, aka BioShock.

Previously it's been suggested this new title is an X-Com game, with Levine refusing to confirm or deny. The studio boss is "very proud" they've never had to trim staff numbers, ever.

Developer Harmonix is to let the Rock Band community upload, share and even profit from home-made songs - after they've jumped the necessary hoops.

Dubbed the 'Rock Band Network', it will "allow bands, studios and record labels" to create and upload tracks from their master recordings. This is Rock Band's "next logical step".

Codemasters confirmed today that Colin McRae: DiRT 2 will be shipping on September 8th in North America and with a UK release date of September 11th.

Former Xbox Live Arcade man David Edery has come out against digital content hyping, saying it's "neither as big nor as significant" as the game consoles themselves.

During a Develop keynote he also commented there were "too many" multiplayer games with "too few players populating them." Digital distro doesn't have such a "long tail" as claimed.

GT5 Prologue stays undamaged, Polyphony "focus" elsewhere now

An update from Polyphony was expected to give GT5 Prologue the chance to wreck some cars, but now they reveal they're "around the bend and down the straight".

The team's primary goal right now is "making sure GT PSP (and GT5)" gets in the hands of gamers, so content revisions to Prologue are likely canned. PSP will have indestructible cars.

Realtime Worlds' MMO All Points Bulletin is being revealed even more as studio boss Dave Jones spills the beans at his Develop keynote speech.

He affirms what previously has been said, that APB supports 100 players to a server, has massive amounts of customisation for avatars and cars, plus you can create your own jingles!

Activision has confirmed the Wolfenstein game is now to launch a little later because of its planned simultaneous release worldwide, so blame the world.

Its new retail date is the week commencing August 17th, so fans need contain themselves for a fortnight. Wolfenstein takes gamers to "the heart of the Reich" on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Microsoft has big ambitions for Project Natal in the gaming world, and even possibly in the corporate space too according to Bill Gates himself, it's "pretty exciting."

EndWar's Michael de Plater believes Natal could really spice up the console RTS, the use of "voice and gesture" would really be something for gamers, "powerful and immersive."

Guerrilla Games are "certainly not done developing" on PlayStation 3 says senior producer Steven ter Heide; there's plenty of "opportunities to get better " yet.

On whether or not a new Killzone would launch the Guerrilla big wigs, unsurprisingly, wouldn't say or elaborate on "future projects" either. A Killzone 3 on PS3 seems likely though.

Robomodo's Josh Tsui has said they're obviously "very focused" on getting Tony Hawk: Ride, the board peripheral wonder kid, out the door to skateboard fans.

Being the "creative types" that they are, plans for a sequel are already churning in their minds. It's "just a matter of timing," the team are "juggling" a lot of things at the moment.

Activision has announced that developer Luxoflux are busy on downloadable content for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, coming to both Xbox 360 and PS3.

It's to add ten new multiplayer characters to choose from, three new multiplayer maps and new Autobots and Decepticons for singleplayer as well. The DLC adds in Expert Difficulty.

Developer Remedy have been poked about a possible PC version of Alan Wake by fans, only an Xbox 360 version is being talked about and focused on.

Their response reveals Microsoft as holding all the cards, it's their decision if it is to reach desktops. A simultaneous release on Xbox 360 and PC "will not happen" affirms Remedy.

Microsoft revealed a South Park game was coming to XBLA, and that was back in E3 2008. Since then nothing, literally nothing more was heard of the project.

Prepare to drop your bag of Cheesy Poofs because it's finally happening, Microsoft will unveil on July 23rd what those Colorado kids will be getting up to at Comic-Con, San Diego.

It's been spotted Ubisoft, the Internet never forgets because we can't - it's called cache. A job listing for a new lead game designer for "Heroes of MM" went live.

Now that same job listing has been selectively edited, removing the Heroes bit and mention of it being a "new fantasy RPG title" for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Ubisoft Shanghai is developing.

Red Faction: Guerrilla on PC this September 11th, DX10 screens

THQ has now confirmed that Red Faction: Guerrilla will be causing a ruckus on PC desktops this September 11th in Europe, and on the 15th in North America.

The developers have also released the minimum and recommended system requirements; this Martian rebellion will need some horsepower to enjoy the full DirectX 10 experience.

Eidos has in fact already confirmed a Kane & Lynch 2 game is "in production," two years ago actually. It's a "franchise for adults" that has potential they said.

The trademark was filed this month so we're a step closer to having the lid officially blown off by guns, mercenary stares and naughty swears. Good times for 'adults'; tweens can shove it.

The recent purchase of id Software by ZeniMax Media doesn't mean they'll be working on Bethesda franchises or creating new properties for them either.

Peter Hines of Bethesda says they're helping id build their three teams, as they wanted to pursue "development of their IP in-house." The veteran studio has "more IP than" teams on staff.

Iceberg Interactive today announced that its acquired the worldwide publishing rights to the episodic PC and console action adventure game, Adam's Venture: The Search for the Lost Garden. Set during the 1920's, Adam's Venture takes you on a journey of discovery to find the legendary place of the beginning of mankind, the lost Garden of Eden. The game is set for release in Q4-2009.

Team17's Alien Breed Evolution is a trilogy, rolls out this October

Martyn Brown of Team17 has said during a Develop Conference speech, that Alien Breed Evolution will cost them around $2.5 million, truly an "expensive digital" title.

The game has both singleplayer and co-operative modes, and will be released in three parts beginning in October. It has approximately 15 hours worth of gameplay says Team17.

Microsoft's Charlie Skilbeck believes their Xbox Live Community Games will soon be earning developers major wedge for their back pockets, quality to rise fast.

Creators of 'Clover' recently criticised the service, and Skilbeck understands "they're upset" it hasn't worked out for them. XBLC is "poised to break out" in quality and projects.
