Tropico 3 for Xbox 360, Kalypso Media enters console market

Kalypso Media today announced that an Xbox 360 version of Tropico 3 is in development. This was previously announced as a PC exclusive, but this announcement will see Kalypso Media enter the next-generation console market with games exclusively for the Xbox 360.

Stefan Marcinek, Global Managing Director Kalypso Media Group said: "The Tropico 3 release on the Xbox 360 is a first for Kalypso and marks the beginning of an exciting entry into the console market. Throughout 2010 Kalypso Media have plans to release four titles in tandem on both the Xbox 360 and PC. Through this we will be able to demonstrate our strong PC Line up with new multiplatform games and this gives us some great opportunities for the year ahead."

A survey conducted on behalf of EA, or otherwise a very nosey company indeed, has been posing Command & Conquer related queries to participants.

It gives hints toward a possible "RPG-like player progression", about a conclusion to the Tiberium saga after 15 years, thoughts on the "first ever mobile base" and a lot more...

Square Enix is looking for some fresh blood with experience, specifically they want Game Masters with "good knowledge" of current MMO Final Fantasy XI.

Their positions would begin on a permanent basis this "Mid-September" in Central London, which could mean the beta kicks off shortly after. Final Fantasy XIV releases next year.

The Punisher: No Mercy hits PlayStation Store on July 2nd

ZEN Studios confirmed today that The Punisher: No Mercy will be released on July 2nd, 2009 through the PlayStation Store for $9.99.

"Our team has been working long hours to deliver a first-person shooter experience that will live up to the Punisher name," said Zsolt Kigyossy, managing director for ZEN Studios. "With awesome characters, a customizable system, and fast-paced multiplayer action, No Mercy is breaking ground in the digital space. For comic and shooter fans alike, this is a must-have game for the summer."

Robomodo: Not Tony Hawk Ride peripheral, but a future "platform"

Joshua Tsui of Robomodo has said to think of the board controller "as less as a peripheral, as more of a platform" with many games planned for it.

Titles with "snowboarding and surfing" are obvious future projects, it's not just all about Tony Hawk's Ride. Robomodo promises a "good return" on investment, with Ride out this year.

Play.com: October date given by "developers", Rockstar disputes

UK online retailer Play.com has listed Max Payne 3 as coming to Europe on October 30th, and even affirmed they were told so by "the developers of the game."

Rockstar Games meanwhile, the publisher, has reiterated they haven't issued a release date apart from its coming this winter. Max Payne 3 is coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Major Nelson has revealed Microsoft have been working on some "really good stuff" to get the dashboard zipping along quicker, real "performance enhancements."

It can get it up quicker and has longer staying power, is essentially the message despite not needing to take "a little blue pill" for such 'enhancement' like some people. Hooray.

Namco nail October for Tekken 6, Europe gets it not too long after

Tekken 6 will arrive in the West on October 27th in North America, though European gamers will have to wait a short while before we can join in.

The game will be bundled with a wireless Hori arcade stick and developer art book for $149.99 on Xbox 360 and PS3, while such a package isn't confirmed for Europe. *sniffle*

Gearbox president Randy Pitchford has nothing but godlike praise for Bungie Studios and Infinity Ward, but now he asks "what else have you got?"

Pitchford really wants to hear what "amazing" team Bungie are up to "that's not Halo," admitting it's difficult right now for studios to gamble on new IP. Breakup with MGS was "a big risk."

The whole debacle between 3D Realms and Take-Two over Duke Nukem Forever may have an upshot for fans left out in the cold, there's another out there.

It was being developed "in parallel" by another "well-known" developer studio, with publishing rights at Take-Two. It's expected "to be completed by mid-2010." Who's the dev?!

Project Natal and Sony's motion wand has been on the minds of EA Sports developers for a while now says boss Peter Moore, it'll impact them "very positively."

The sports label saw both companies motion-control gizmos "several months ago," and so they've had ample time "looking at opportunities" for EA titles. Boxing would be "very very cool."

Sega has announced that the first downloadable content for Empire: Total War will be available today on Steam.

Publisher Eidos announced that Championship Manager 2009 was to be delayed, and so it was, in fact for so long that it evolved football seasons.

Now this new fit breed of Championship Manager, dubbed 2010, will be ready in time for the new season of booting balls around fields. It's got an "innovation" called CM Season Live.

Despite the recent announcement from publisher Kalypso that they have the "majority of licenses and assets" from Ascaron, things continue for Sacred 2.

Anca Adelina Finta of Ascaron confirmed the add-on "is not affected by anything" and development continues, adding she wishes Kalypso and the others "good luck" with the IPs.

Bethesda's Jeff Gardiner has spilled some rustic beans on the upcoming DLC, Point Lookout. It adds "lots of new" critters and gear, nothing gameplay substantive.

But Point Lookout Swamp "is substantive" to explore, just don't expect any more character levels or anything. Future DLC decisions were "always 'up in the air'"; it arrives June 23rd.
