Codemasters has sent out an alert to its registered users that it has suffered a security breach at the hands of hackers, and that personal data was compromised including personal information, Gamertags and encrypted password information.

Stainless Games has reacquired the Carmageddon brand and is currently developing a digital download version called Carmageddon: Reincarnation.

The developer was originally behind PC versions of Carmageddon and Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse.

DiRT 3 offline for PlayStation 3

Codemasters's DiRT 3 on PS3 isn't able to be all it can be right now as online multiplayer is denied to owners as the PlayStation Store remains down.

The 'VIP Pass' has to be redeemed through the PlayStation Store so that DiRT 3 gamers can enjoy multiplayer through PlayStation Network. End of May?

Indie creating new Carmageddon, Square Enix don't own the IP

Publisher Square Enix don't hold the rights to Carmageddon or its website as they, or rather Eidos, used to. Stainless was the creator of the Carmageddon series.

It will apparently be announced at E3 but won't be shown on the floor. The rights have returned to Stainless, but don't seem to be behind the development.

DiRT 3's achievements and trophies reveal four DLC packs

Codemasters has four DLC packs for DiRT 3 which releases tomorrow. The PS3 Trophy list has revealed the names of the inbound DLC for the rally racer.

Each pack features four trophies to unlock. There's the 'Mud and Guts' and 'Power and Glory' car packs, and the 'Monte Carlo' and 'X Games' track packs.

DiRT 3 has been confirmed to use the unpopular "EA Online Pass", which restricts free online play to new users, and penalizes used game purchasers with a fee to play online.

Sorry but SEGA and their empire aren't producing a full fledge sequel to SEGA Rally in the near future, although they acknowledge "a bit of a resurgence".

Mike Hayes commends Codemasters for a "brilliant job" with F1 2011, and they're "constantly" evaluating whether it's a "viable market" again.

NFS: Shift 2 Unleashed 'Speedhunters' DLC coming May 17

Electronic Arts has announced that some new downloadable content will be hitting Need for Speed: Shift 2 Unleashed on May 17th. The DLC is called "Speedhunters" and will include new cars and tracks, as well as new career paths. The DLC is inspired by Speedhunters.com.

F1 2010 sells over 2.3m globally

Codemasters' F1 2010 has "surpassed expectations" by selling over 2.3 million copies around the world with 540k of those sold in the UK alone. No franchise "freefall".

They had "some cool things" up their sleeve with F1 2010 boast Codemasters, and they learnt a "great deal" over the years working on the Formula 1 racing franchise.

Eden Games blast "Atari mismanagement" over June layoffs

Test Drive: Unlimited creator Eden Games is less than happy with Atari right now, who they blame for "mismanagement" through so many "leader changes at its head".

They also said those bosses "did not hesitate to get rich" despite the financial strife in the company. Eden has been "extremely collaborative" with Atari until now.

Driver: San Francisco at least 10-12 hours

In an interview with German site PS3 Insider, Ubisoft senior producer Marie-Jo Leroux revealed Driver: San Francisco will take about some 10-12 hours, but with 130 more activities, that game time will expand a ton.

Disney confirm Black Rock Studios "reduction" of workforce

Split/Second's Black Rock Studios hasn't had much to do since mid-December revealed a source, as Disney has been "unable to provide" a project for them.

Around "100 jobs are at risk," said the source. Disney has since confirmed a "reduction of its workforce" at the Brighton-based dev, internal to Disney studios.

The next game in the longrunning Need for Speed series has been leaked, and it's called Need for Speed: The Run, which seems to be loosely based on the Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash (best known as The Cannonball Run) where racers try to go from San Francisco to New York on regular trafficked highways, often at illegal speeds.

The racing series SBK and WRC are no longer Tradewest's responsibility in the UK as Ubisoft has taken over the reins, which is great for developer Milestone.

This is almost Ubi's first steps into setting up a racing portfolio. This deal covers publisher Black Bean's releases of which SBK and WRC are heavy hitters.

The latest instalment in the Driver series will be arriving at August's end for North American videogamers, while Europe remains with 'September sometime'.

Driver: San Francisco releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC simultaneously but will also hit Mac, Nintendo Wii and 3DS. We play a comatose Tanner.

Ubisoft has stealthily added a Trackmania 2 page to its site, which is very light on information. It includes a newsletter signup and a brief teaser trailer.

Trackmania is a build-your-own racing track title, a sort of spiritual successor to Electronic Arts' old game Racing Destruction Set.

The devs at Test Drive Unlimited 2 have announced that "The Exploration Pack" DLC is almost out the door, and will not only include new cars and wreck and mission locations (20 each), but will also give players the ability to sell their duel cars and patch a bunch of bugs in the game as well. The DLC also includes 3D support for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
