It's "hard to please" all Sonic fans

Sega has defended their line of 3D Sonic outings, saying there are those who enjoy them over his 2D past. Veterans though love 2D above all.

This is the problem, a single title can't "please both" so that's why 2 "different types" of Sonic are due this year. Giving choice should please fans.

EA announces Create for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC

The Play label of Electronic Arts today announced Create, featuring imaginative gameplay challenges where the solutions are fuelled by the creativity of the player. Available this November for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

"Create uses families' imaginations to develop new ways to play together that are both fun and challenging," said Harvey Elliott, VP and General Manager at EA Bright Light.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow's Mercury Steam says that Microsoft is going to "experience more and more" studios having disc storage issues.

It's a single Blu-ray disc for PS3 but 2 DVDs for Xbox 360. Each console "has its own issues" notes Mercury, but you "have to work around them."

Sega and Platinum Games' action fighter Bayonetta will be getting something it appears as Yusuke Hashimoto reveals news is on the way.

The studio and Sega have already expressed an interest in a sequel, or at least a spin-off. This new game information will be out "this week."

Executive producer and writer Haden Blackman of LucasArts' Star Wars: The Force Unleashed franchise has left the studio after 13 years.

Blackman had a "fantastic time" at LucasArts he says, but now he wants to explore "new creative challenges". Game development unaffected.

Narrative director Edward Douglas for Ubisoft's upcoming Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X 2 believes that buttoned controllers are essential for the genre.

Buttons are "needed to control" an aircraft he says, because it adds authenticity. Why would they go "so far away" from that kind of immersion?

Another WWE franchise is being created by publisher THQ, and it won't 'cannibalise' the "big, expensive" Smackdown vs. RAW gamer fans.

Also Smackdown! vs. Raw Online is unlikely to hit the West without a redesign. This new franchise is a "little different" from WWE All Stars.

Just like the first game, which got us crushing on comic-to-videogames again, Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 will also be using the Unreal Engine.

What does this mean? It means Rocksteady can fine tune their already great talents with the tech, and hopefully blow us away all over again.

DC Comics' Suicide Squad is getting a videogame adaption revealed the Comic-Con panellists, specifically chief creative officer Geoff Johns.

They hinted at no platform or a release. It may launch alongside the Suicide Squad movie reported to be in the works. It'll be "hardcore violent".

Job listings at Rockstar North have surfaced and they're hunting for new developers who have "professional experience" with 3rd person action.

THQ's announced that its upcoming 3rd person shooter, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, will now be released for the PC in addition to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Jonathan Dowdeswell, General Manager of Relic Entertainment commented: "The loyal PC audience is incredibly important to us here at Relic so we are delighted to be able to announce the PC version of the game."

Grand Theft Auto IV was released back in 2008 to record numbers and was later followed by 2 DLC episodes starring all-new crazy action.

Publisher Capcom have 2 titles due out this year and one of them had its original game banned for sale in Germany. We're talking Dead Rising.

As no rating has been given to Dead Rising 2, Capcom feel it would be unfair to showcase it in a region it can't be sold. Won't 'solely exhibit' other title.

Veteran game creator Keiji Inafune of Capcom has boasted that Mega Man Universe will "unite Mega Man fans together" in one super place.

It will include all versions of Mega Man, even the "crappy" original designs. They wanted to "preserve as much as we can" of the 8-bit Mega Man.

Publisher Square Enix has said the delay of mech-combat game Front Mission Evolved affects only the US release, whereas Europe is fine.

Double Helix's Xbox 360, PS3 and PC title will hit Europe September 17th as planned. It's got "Hollywood-style production values" says Square.

August end will see the standalone game of Dead Rising 2: Case Zero released on Xbox Live Arcade, telling the prequel story of Chuck Greene.

It takes place 3 years for Dead Rising 2, and 2 years after the original game. Skills, prestige, attributes, combos and player outfits carry over.

THQ's UK marketing director, Jon Rooke blames Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption for stealing away "consumer dollars" from UFC 2010.

That's why it has been "softer" in sales then they would like. Last year THQ had the "perfect storm" for UFC sales, this year "Rockstar did" for RDR.

Ninja Theory is putting all their narrative and story arc eggs in one basket with Enslaved, as they "focus everything" on the upcoming action game.

They "don't have a big arc," reveals Tameem Antoniades. There will be no sequel to Enslaved unless it's "successful," but they assume it won't.
