Banjo-Tooie to hit XBLA in April

Rare community manager George Kelion has announced on his Banjo Blog that Banjo-Tooie, the sequel to Banjo-Kazooie, is ready to hit XBLA from April.

He also revealed that the Stop ‘n’ Swap feature will be used, meaning "items collected in Banjo-Kazooie will 'magically' appear in Tooie, resulting in... well, you’ll just have to find out."

Fallout 3 Patch won't hit the PS3

MTV Multiplayer asked Bethesda if PlayStation 3 owners will get the same patch as PC/360 players that allows for exploration of the Fallout map after the final mission, receiving a response of blunt disappointment.

Executive producer Todd Howard nonchalantly replied, "Not at this time, no."

SEGA Europe announces 3rd March Release Date for Empire: Total War

SEGA Europe today announced that the next iteration of the Total War series, Empire: Total War, will be shipped to stores in North America and Canada from 3rd March and available to buy in stores around the world from the 4th March.

In addition, customers will be able to purchase the game as a digital download from 18:00 GMT on the 3rd of March, with the exception of North American and Canadian customers who will be able to purchase a digital download from 09:00 GMT on the 4th of March.

Microsoft "committed" to Flight Sim antics despite ACES demise

The closure of internal developer studio ACES caused a stir among Flight Simulator fans, fearing the 27 year old IP was nose-diving into the scrap yard.

According to Microsoft's PR firm the closing down of ACES was "to align our people against our highest priorities." Basically the IP wasn't pulling in enough so it's grounded.

Director Len Wisemen admits to "suck at video games," but was seduced by Gears of War footage when on set with Die Hard 4.0.

He said he "really connected with it" and the focus would be on the "science fiction side of it than the creature side of it." Wiseman hopes to do three movies and "cover the bases".

The studios have confirmed that they won't be facing cuts from EA, reports Develop. Insiders confirm the British developers are secure.

Criterion develops the acclaimed and adrenaline fuelled Burnout franchise, with Bright Light focusing on casual and family focused titles. EA Black Box and Tiburon were recently hit.

Twisted Pixel having only just released The Maw over XBLA and has announced three new levels will be available soon via downloadable content.

Treated as "deleted scenes", each will be priced at 100 MS points and come with a new achievement. Brute Force, River Redirect and The Speeder Lane will arrive in coming weeks.

Fallout 3 criticism "is fair" says Howard, answers three top niggles

Executive producer Todd Howard has said that when you charge for something then"all criticism is fair," as he responds to three thorny issues for some.

He agrees Fallout 3 as a first-person shooter is "just mediocre", that the team has learnt how "p*ssed off" fans were it ended and he likes to "blow people's heads off" in V.A.T.S.

According to translations from German magazine 'Games Aktuell', they spilled not just on gameplay but a PC release for Q4 this year.

In their preview they discussed "the first Uroboros fight and the "Merchant" system" report fan site REHorror. They add the mag lists the PC release "on the first page" of the Resi Evil 5 piece.

HanbitSoft to stoke fires of Hellgate: London, wants it free-to-play

The whole Hellgate debacle still isn't quite over yet as Korean based publisher HanbitSoft is pledging to continue server operations, for free.

They plan on "unifying" on and offline fans whilst adopting "a free-to-play model." The English press release has ignited rumour that they plan to operate Hellgate worldwide.

Avid fan site BeyondReal have listed a huge change log of updates heading their way to 2007's Unreal Tournament 3; gives AI more brains.

Shortly after the release of the patch the "Titan Pack" will be set loose as well, which is "substantially bigger" than any previous bonus pack from Epic Games. Monster Kill!

EVE Online's "unstable" wormholes to mix things up, details spill

Wormholes will soon be littering EVE Online in a random fashion as they open pilots to new and possibly unexplored solar systems.

There are "no stargates or stations" in these systems, and they aren't instanced but randomly picked from "one of the thousands" each time. The final frontier just got crazier.

The PSBlog's confirmed that a major update for Motorstorm: Pacific Rift is in the final stages of development and should be released in the near future. The update contains many improvements and amendments to the game, as well as fixing several issues reported on the official forums.

Midway Games today announced that the company has shipped approximately 1.8 million units of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe worldwide for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

"Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe was the result of countless hours of hard work by many people, and seeing the game surpass the million-seller plateau makes it worth all the effort," said Ed Boon, Mortal Kombat co-founder and creative director, Midway. Capcom's Chris Kramer has admitted that this latest Resident Evil is no longer stalking spooky hallways alone, but embracing the "action hero".

Aside from having the largest collection of weaponry ever in the series, the "whole game is designed from ground up" for co-op play, never losing your pal. It's a 'big leap forward'.

Lower sales down to "oversupply" of games, not price says SEGA

Mike Hayes, Sega Europe president and COO, has said low sales that affected big names last year were down to "physically about the time you've got."

With publishers packing in so many big games close around it becomes difficult to find "enough time to actually play them all." Hayes warns there's likely to be less put out.
