KOEI announced today that Fatal Inertia EX will be released on the PlayStation Network July 15th. The game’s European release follows its successful US launch which was accompanied by a very positive critical response.

Robert Bowling, community manager for Infinity Ward, has posted an update for fans on what the teams getting up to, and where they hope to be going creatively.

Sadly he wasn't able to let slip any details on their upcoming new IP franchise, which is rumoured to be a sci-fi game, saying "it's going to be quite a while" before they'll say anything.

The big in-game XMB update for the PlayStation 3 was pulled last week for 'bricking' a number of gamer's consoles who updated to the latest 2.40 firmware.

Sony pulled the firmware from their servers and are apparently going to released the new 2.41 version "midweek", according to their customer support. No official confirmation yet.

Blizzard's Pardo agrees a console Diablo "theoretically posssible"

The upcoming Diablo III has been confirmed as a PC and MAC exclusive game, Blizz VP of game design Rob Pardo has acknowledged that Diablo could touchdown on a console.

"Target selection is something you're going to lose on console," he mused. Of all their franchises he believes Diablo would be the "easiest game to translate."

Microsoft has "game-changing" Xbox360 news for this year's E3

David Gosen, marketing executive at Microsoft, has announced that at this year's E3 event in Los Angeles, the corporate giant will be unveiling "fantastic surprises".

There's big speculation on what's in store from the wave of leaks from the marketing research firm Intellisponse. Microsoft's press conference is on July 14th, we'll just have to wait.

BioWare to reveal Dragon Age details, veil of secrecy to lift July 9th

The upcoming Dragon Age was announced quite a while back but very little info has trickled down from BioWare since then, which is all to change very soon.

They've updated the Dragon Age website with the excellent news that they plan to start yammering on about it. The RPG is expected to hit shops sometime before April '09.

Yet more embarrassing news for the corporate giant as Xbox360 Elite units, once thought to be immune to the RROD, have been sent back after permanently freezing up.

The £290 consoles are being shipped to Germany for repair which apparently racks up a £500 million repair bill. Since 2005 over 12 million Xbox360's have been sold worldwide.

Konami has informed Strategy Informer that is has released the official soundtrack to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Scored by long-term Metal Gear associate and Hollywood artist, Harry Gregson-Williams, the 16-track CD features melodious, stirring tracks written for the blockbuster stealth-action title.

Rumour-mill: New Master Chief-less Halo game debuting at E3?

According to Sarcastic Gamer a source has revealed that Bungie Studios is in fact working on another Halo game, though there's nothing specific about the details - typical.

This could be the rumoured third-person prequel game, or not. One thing's for sure this would count as one of the two big E3 reveals from Microsoft, if you believe that rumour.

On the official Infinity Ward forums, community manager Robert Bowling has revealed that while they would love to have the features in they simply came too late from Sony.

He announced that they "have no plans" to patch in support for Trophies or a rumble feature "due to our current production schedule." No Modern rumbling Warfare then.

Eric Lempel, Sony's PSN director, has confirmed that, "The Home open beta is still on schedule for release later this fall."

Speaking to Next-Gen, Lempel went on to say that Home would be worth the wait, and promised a rich and full-bodied experience come the autumn launch.

Chris Satchell, XNA's general manager, has told GamesIndustry.biz that Microsoft has experimented with 3D games, otherwise referred to as stereoscopic games.

While the technology is "extremely interesting" the current requirement to wear cumbersome headgear, looking just a bit too retro sci-fi, hampers real acceptance.

KDV announces Perimeter 2: New Earth

KDV Games announced today that it's currently developing a sequel to the RTS Perimeter, which has been named Perimeter 2: New Earth and is scheduled to be released for the PC. No release date has been given.

Hundreds years of traveling through time and space are over, but not the actual story. The fate of humanity that has been forced to leave dying Earth and flee to the deadly worlds of the Psychosphere is once again in your hands.
