No title announcements from LucasArts at E3, "too much noise"

If you've followed the gaming news recently you will know that LucasArts blew a lot of employees into space dust, and the subsequent leaked 'secrets'.

Apparently though they won't be making any new title unvelings at this year's E3 event because of "too much noise" surrounding the show. Darn.

US PS3 Store unveils MGS4 database with spoilers "blacked out"

A full database with everything Metal Gear has go online for the US Store, its 'safe' for newcomers to MGS4 as it will "blacked out" spoilers until the game is completed.

It comes with an extras section which already gives gamers some new camouflage and in-game music for free, no EU Store mention yet.

Konami in Japan are selling standalone discs for the Metal Gear Online Starter Pack priced at 1,800 yen which is around $17.

MGO is free-to-play online so you can make your way to the mayhem without having to cough up your savings, expansions are coming too apparently.

Ghostbusters material from Zootfly team helped

A while back Zootfly floated footage of a Ghostbusters game but had no license from Sony to do much of anything with it.

Mark Randel, president of Terminal Reality, commented in their interview with OXM that "what Zootfly did for us, inadvertently, is help sell the concept."

BBC spills beans on "whole new version" of Driver, Ubisoft quiet

The UK's BBC conducted a little video poke around at Ubisoft Reflections in Newcastle, where they report the team is "working on a whole new version" of Driver.

A later clip centred around the UK industry struggling from oversea tax breaks reiterates the studio is working on "the latest version of a popular driving game".

Whilst at an investors meeting John Riccitiello confessed to "torturing" the team behind the NFS franchise which led to the "not good" NFS: Pro Street.

The team has been split in two to ease the cycle load, something he feels will help them "get better from here."

Rumours of some "bitterness" developing around Ninja Theory untrue says a staffer from NT, who has cleared the air over at NeoGAF.

They say they've "never started work on HS2" because the team wanted to "focus on new multiplatform IP." Ideas that the team had "disbanded is ridiculous."

Metal Gear Solid 4 shifts 476K units in Japan during first four days

Enterbrain data for sales has revealed that 476,334 copies of the game were sold throughout the Japanese consumers, across various editions.

Hardware bundles gave the console a nice kick too, 77,208 PS3 units have sold during launch week Kotaku reports.

Len Wiseman, director of Die Hard 4.0 and Underworld, takes the big job of shouting "cut" and is working along with Chris Morgan to scribble a script, reports Variety.

Our industries own Cliffy B is attached as executive producer and will be consulting on behalf of Epic Games and Microsoft.

SEGA debunk leak video claims, 'The Crucible' not their project

A video that swam out with all the other recent leaks from Intellisponse apparently lead some to believe this footage was of SEGA and Silicon Knights joint project.

A rep from SEGA however contacted MTV Multiplayer and struck down the notion using mighty words like it's "not the game that Silicon Knights is creating for us."

Next firmware update to include "trophies" and "XMB" says Sony

After having just released their 2.36 firmware, which apparently was just for improving some of the system stability, Sony confirm in-game XMB and trophies are on their way.

They say "you can expect us to share all of the official details shortly," on the official US PlayStation Blog website.

EA sets date for FaceBreaker - 5th September, 2008

Electronic Arts has confirmed to Eurogamer that Facebreaker, the upcoming cartoon boxing title that is set to be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360, will be released in Europe this Autumn.

Americans found out last night that Facebreaker would be released in the US on September 5th, and now Europeans can be pleased to see that EA is releasing it on the same day.

Kane's Wrath: "No Plans" for PS3 Release

In an interview with StrategyInformer, Command and Conquer: Kane's Wrath producer Jim Vessella confirmed there are “no plans” to release a PS3 version of the game. “We're currently focused on 360 development for Command and Conquer”, said Vessella, “but we are investigating the PS3 for future developments.”

Details have emerged about the 360 version of Kane's Wrath, the upcoming standalone expansion to Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. We spoke to the game's producer Jim Vessella who shed some light on a new 360-exclusive game mode.

Kane's Challenge is a “gauntlet of skirmish matches” with the player taking control of one of nine armies (the three original factions are present as well as six new sub-factions). Competing in a series of single matches, the player must climb a ladder, unlocking achievements and more along the way. “It's a great way to learn about RTS games” said Vessella and confirmed there would be 20 new videos of Kane to be unlocked as you progress through Kane's Challenge, with the baldy one either offering support or pouring scorn on your efforts.
