European PlayStation Store set for more classic PSOne games

If what reports suggest are true, then European gamers are in for a real treat when 25 cult classic PlayStation One games are released onto the PlayStation store. Apparently they'll be unleashed soon.

Independent warranty study shows 16% failure rate for the Xbox360

SquareTrade, an independent warranty provider, has finished their study and published their findings on the failure rates of Microsoft's next-gen console. Their conclusion from a 1040 sample group of warranty claims between April 1 and July 31 2007, shows a 16% rate of fail for the console.

This study doesn't encompass data from the launch of the Xbox360 so a true rate value is unlikely to be known.

The official Gears of War site now carries an Epic survey though I can't vouch for actual 'epicness' of the survey.

It craves the democratic blood of fan feedback, you'll need to remember your Windows Live ID though or the sweet victory of voting can't be yours.

There's been no confirmation from Sony themselves but an interesting scrap of information has made its way onto the Internet, fancy that. Apparently the PlayStation Store could very well be having a day or two at the coder’s saloon and spa for a complete design makeover.

From Kotaku and their sources, the graphical user interface will get a major overhaul to coincide with the US release of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, which hits April 15.

Dark Sector almost didn't make it for PS3

Digital Extremes upcoming Shooter, Dark Sector, was almost canceled on the PlayStation 3 due to development problems, producer Josh Austin revealed to Ripten.

"This is the PS3 version, It looks just as good as the 360 version, which we're very happy about. Towards the end we started having some serious conversations about what we were going to do, but we ended up pulling it off, so we're very proud of that.

Sony Computer Entertainment America today announced the God of War PSP bundle pack which is a limited-edition offering that celebrates the debut of the God of War Franchise on the PSP. This special bundle will feature a limited-edition “Deep Red” PSP with the God of War himself, Kratos, silkscreened on the back of the unit; the highly anticipated God of War: Chains of Olympus game; the hit comedy movie from Columbia Pictures, Superbad, on UMD; and a PlayStation Network voucher to download the Syphon Filter: Combat Ops from the PlayStation store for free.

The latest issue of Famitsu has revealed that Capcom could be planning on developing an updated version of Resident Evil Zero for the Wii. Its been called Biohazard 0 in Japan and will be released during the Summer, but no information was given for a release in Europe.
