SEGA date Virtua Tennis 4 for US May 10th, Europe April 29th

The latest instalment of Virtua Tennis from SEGA has just had its official release dates announced, and Europe will be whacking those balls first.

Virtua Tennis 4 is their "strongest ever" character roster. It releases for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii in Europe April 29th, and in North America May 10th.

PlayStation 3 baseball fans will be pleased to know that the demo for MLB 11: The Show is now available on PSN. The demo will allow players to play four innings at AT&T Park between the Texas Rangers and the San Francisco Giants, who faced off in the 2010 World Series.

The PlayStation US Blog has also revealed the new co-op mode for MLB 11, which allows friends to play together in the game.

Creative director Todd Batty for SSX: Deadly Descents has said the game still has about 15 months of development ahead of it, making it late 2012.

Details of the game have surfaced: We're a part of the SSX corporation in a story, there are 200-300 tracks over 9 peaks, multipliers and Elise return.

Sky Sports have been told by the UK's media regulator Ofcom that its use of the EA Sports logo during a recent football match was poor "editorial judgement".

Sky admit the EA branding was "not linked" to any "programme sponsorship arrangements" with the publisher. Ofcom took no action beyond a worded caution.

Electronic Arts has posted a new blog showing off the first of two new features of Madden NFL 12: a surprise onside kick, as seen in the vid below.

The second new feature is one seen in last year’s NHL and NCAA Football EA Sports titles, “Tuner Sets”. Tuner Sets allows EA Sports to tweak tuner settings without having to do a major update.

Blood Bowl LE 2.0.1.1 patch

A new patch, version 2.0.1.1, has been released for Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition. The patch improves private league options, as well as a ton of minor fixes. The patch is for all on disc and digitally distributed editions of the game except for the Steam version, which will update itself automatically.

505 Games has announced a new Kinect sports title that will put the gamer in the role of a competitive swimmer, which will be sponsored by Olympic champion Michael Phelps.

According to developer Blitz Games, Michael Phelps - Push the Limit will capture the player's movements to accurately simulate swimming, and eventually try to beat Phelps himself in competition.

Producer Mike Mahar of Fight Night Champion says there's been some "pretty cool prototyping" of motion controls with the Fight Night series.

However most gamers "don't want to, and can't" punch for 10 rounds. EA might create a "different experience" if they adopt motion. Mini-game a "disservice".

Electronic Arts has claimed a few new domain registrations, and they're fairly interesting. It seems that EA is considering or is already developing Kinect versions of the snowboarding title SSX and the mega-popular life sim The Sims.

EA Sports' Tiger Woods game this year will be in full harmony with PlayStation Move as they've "had a full cycle to dedicate" to the motion controller.

The team has managed to "smooth out a lot of the kinks" from last year's Tiger Woods 11. EA Sports has "full Sony Move support" for its golfing this year.
