EA Sports boss Peter Moore says you should "never say never" but right now the FIFA franchise won't be doing motion tech or any 3D.

There's a lack of "obvious relevance" of those techs to FIFA right now, and even calls it "disruptive". It's too gimmicky and mini-game like.

The lower than expected sales for UFC Undisputed 2010 has THQ a little jittery, and so they're "considering a longer" cycle for development.

The franchise isn't losing THQ's commitment said CEO Brian Farrell, they just want more time for each release to avoid it feeling too samey.

There's good news and bad news. You'll get a taste of EA Sports' NBA Jam if you buy NBA Elite 11 for Xbox 360 or PS3 but never the full product.

It's not releasing for Xbox Live Arcade or PlayStation Network - EA is "holding back" NBA Jam for Nintendo Wii. Elite includes "good portion" of Jam.

Publisher THQ won't be ditching the UFC Undisputed franchise any time soon despite sales not being so hot, although it did meet expectations.

They even list a number of causes for a slow pickup to this year's UFC title: Red Dead Redemption, the economy, VAT, iPad, the World Cup...

The 'Manager Mode' introduced by FIFA 10 wasn't well received and so EA Sports have ditched it in favour of a new 'Career Mode' instead.

Footballers created in FIFA 11's Creation Centre will be available to manage in Career Mode, which includes leaderboards among friends.

THQ's UK marketing director, Jon Rooke blames Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption for stealing away "consumer dollars" from UFC 2010.

That's why it has been "softer" in sales then they would like. Last year THQ had the "perfect storm" for UFC sales, this year "Rockstar did" for RDR.

EA has confirmed at its Redwood showcase that EA Sports MMA will be released on 19th October in the US.

There's been no word a European date, but we hope to have that in soon.

EA Sports has just given a peek into their locker room, announcing that we can rise from a nobody to a big somebody in Fight Night Champions.

It will "break the mold" of the singleplayer sports game, tease EA Vancouver. It will embrace an "entirely new way" to enter the ring. Around 60 boxers.

Mexican mask-wearing wrestling is on the way but has now left its original August window, as first-time publisher Slang dates it for October 12th.

'Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring' features over 30 "real life luchadores" coming to Xbox 360 and PS3. Konami is distributing this Mexican export.

There's to be no dumbing down of FIFA 11 when it arrives on PC the same time as its console cousins, pledges EA Sports; a full package.

It "took two years" but they're finally "able to deliver" the next-gen experience on desktop as well as console. The game boots out October 1st.

The latest FIFA instalment from EA Sports - FIFA 11 - will be in European shops October 1st while the US gets it earlier on September 28th.

EA has added a 'Creation Centre' which lets you make players and teams from scratch, and even share them. You can now set custom chants too.

What's this?! Boarding pro Shaun White hates a game character? Yes, his very own first appearance in Shaun Palmer Pro Snowboarder.

It was the "worst experience" he had because it looked nothing like him, and didn't even adopt his snowboarding style. They just took his name.

Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox 360's Project Natal motion controller will now be named Kinect, according to USA Today.

There was an ad leaked earlier in the night that mentioned the Kinect name, but also appeared to confirm that a 250GB slim Xbox 360 unit with built-in wi-fi. We're now almost certain that the slim unit will be officially announced at Microsoft's Press Conference at 6pm BST today.

Publisher EA is being sued by California-based Active Network because they claim 'Active' is theirs to use for sporty products, and EA is stealing.

That's the gist of it anyway. Now that EA's Sports Active has online features the Active Network feels threatened and wants 'Active' removed.
