Other than a bit of a mouthful to say, the new version will include some new modes and cross-platform play say Capcom.

It's arriving at $29.99 for North America while the European tag is yet to be announced, but will be "in line with other platinum releases".

Valves Doug Lombardi proclaims "we're not just going to pump out more and cash in on the success of the first one." Take that marketing!

BradyGames announced this morning that its launched its Grand Theft Auto IV Signature Series guide – the only official guide to the year’s biggest game, out now for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Created in conjunction with developer Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto IV Signature Series guide weighs in at 288 pages, features an exclusive double-sided foldout map and poster, and goes on sale with an RRP of £12.99.

You can finally earn those achievements and get out the manly syringe, or partake of TF2's new co-operative Goldrush map and get into the cart action.

Also on the horizon is the Team Fortress 2 Free Weekend which starts this Friday and will go from May 2nd to the 4th. Free Steam account users are eligible.

The PC Play magazine has released an English version of an interview it did with Cevat Yerli, president of the German Studio Crytek, which is well known for developing Crysis. In the interview they discuss the success and failures of Crysis, but more importantly the state of the PC gaming industry.

Microsoft sent out a small press release this morning which reminds us about the Grand Theft Auto IV download content that is coming to the Xbox 360 in autumn.

Microsoft promises that the “episodes will provide hours of additional game play.”

3D Realms still working on Duke Nukem Forever say Shacknews

It seems like an ice age away since Duke Nukem Forever was first announced to an innocent and wide-eyed world.

It's still going through the motions though over at 3D Realms, it's been far too long since Mr Nukem last graced our screens, just too darn long.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Oblivion Lost 2.0 released

The OLP team released version 2.0 of their outstanding overhaul mod, Oblivion Lost. This mod tries to bring S.T.A.L.K.E.R. back to it's roots featuring enhanced free-form play; so-called "A-Life", which removes leveling and corrects bug among other things; increased realism via weapon adjustments, items changes, sounds and more. There's no specific time set but the update is coming to PC gamers this week, it'll include unlockable weapons for classes.

The Medic gets the treatment first and the new map Goldrush introduces a new mode which has one team perilously escorting a rail cart.

The sequel to their top-down shooter will be available on May 14th for 800 Microsoft points, which is around £6.

The sequel comes with new features that fans of the original are sure to enjoy, what's not to like about just shootin' stuff?

Microsoft clarify job postings found linked to Jackson-Halo project

The software giant has come clean about boosting their development force which is working with Peter Jackson and Bungie on "that project."

Bungie still maintain community relations and release content for Halo however their own latest project is not set within the Halo universe.

The publisher is quick to discredit the rumour of Infinity Ward looking to hold sole development rights to the franchise.

They're adament that both Infinity Ward and Treyarch will be onboard. The rumours spread from an ex-Activision employee of Underground Development which is scheduled to close.

Crash for PC version of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 takes up 1GB of HD space

Not the greatest news for the PC release of Rainbow Six Vegas 2, but it appears that the game contains a pretty bad flaw which causes your hard drive space to be eaten up every time the game crashes as it creates a “MemDump” file that takes up nearly 1GB of space.

Voxelstein 3D 0.101 Free Game released

The free game Voxelstein 3D has been released. This FPS was inspired by the classic Wolfenstein 3D and retains the dated look. Based on the Voxlap engine, the game uses voxels instead of the traditional polygons which aids in making the environment very destructible, among other things.

Epic's Mark Rein determined to bring UT3 mods to Xbox360 gamers

Unreal Tournament has always been about the community sticking their noses in and creating the weird, the wonderful and the weirder. "We'll figure it out," proclaims Rein.

Epic Games will even officially release mods for the game if it comes to it but hopes for a way round Microsoft's strict user-generated content policy.
