Community manager Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward has teased that fans know very little about Modern Warfare 2, that everything revealed so far might just cover "20 percent".

There's tons they're "holding back, mostly story stuff." Coming up will be some "huge surprises" including something that will make fans "completely forget" everything devs have said.

The upcoming S.T.A.L.K.E.R. sequel will be releasing exclusively to PC gamers in Q1 next year, and so misses a late '09 window. The game's demands have been posted.

They're quite conservative really and should be okay with just about everyone, unless the last 'big game' you played was [insert generically diss-able PC game here]. Got the gear?

Missed swastika lands Wolfenstein recalled from Germany's market

Wolfenstein from developer Raven has been pulled from the German market for including the banned Nazi symbol, which was accidentally missed when being localized.

Developer Raven and Endrant have already scaled back their workforces, and did so after Wolfenstein's development was completed. A reworked version could take some time.

Quake Live's latest tweaks arrive, tackles some OSX and Linux woe

The developers pulling the puppet strings behind Quake Live have posted their latest list of changes, and add a fair amount of "new console variables" among other things.

For users of OXS and Linux I'm sure you'll be glad to hear your mouse issues have been addressed, and that of "extremely loud audio" too. Patch notes were splashed on the forums.

More achievements and better infected HUD for 360 Left 4 Dead

Valve and Microsoft have gone live with a title update for Xbox 360's Left 4 Dead, presumably in preparation for the Game with Fame event; it has Crash Course playable.

The update has improved the infected HUD in versus mode and added recharge timers for the special attacks of your fellow infected. Achievements have also gone up by 10 from 50.

EA have announced at a conference held in Tokyo that Left 4 Dead 2 will be releasing a playable demo late next month, though no specifics were given, like platform.

Meanwhile, Valve has issued a press release for the Crash Course DLC for the original game. They date it for September 29th on Xbox 360 and PC. It "bridges" two campaigns.

Infinity to "eventually" do something non-Call of Duty, still has ideas

Right now developer Infinity Ward doesn't know what they plan to do next, but they won't be leaving Call of Duty until they're convinced they "can't innovate any further" in the series.

The team think of Modern Warfare 2 "as a new IP," it'll never be referred to as 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' ingame. Whatever lies outside COD, it "will be fresh and it will be great."

Halo3 :ODST marketing "totally bungled", Microsoft "screwed up"

Bethesda production director Ashley Cheng has said it's Microsoft and Bungie's own fault for fans and critics bemoaning the price of Halo 3: ODST; flak entirely their own doing.

Giving it a title change and saying it's no longer a standalone expansion but a full game with a full price caused the problem, and because of all this "waffling" the price is a major issue.

Major Nelson has confirmed that hitting Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow will be The Warriors: Street Brawl from developer CTXM and shooter Ion Assault from team Coreplay.

The third arrival tomorrow will be Konami's Zombie Apocalypse, featuring a "small band of heavily equipped" survivalists. Each of the XBLA titles will be 800 MSP, and all have co-op.

The free-to-play shooter Battlefield: Heroes is EA's very own Team Fortress 2, except they have micro-transactions which have been earning them a mint thanks to user vanity.

EA have announced the very first big change coming to the game, which will be the first of several to arrive eventually. The Gunner has had his three abilities overhauled; live this fall.

Developer Rare has accused both fate and destiny for screwing over chances of a GoldenEye revival, and says that an agreement with Nintendo is "long past".

Being British they can't help but keep a stiff upper lip, and say there's still a chance for it someday. "Stranger things have happened" believes Rare. Microsoft ended rumour last year.

Konami: Zombie Apocalypse shuffles to XBLA and PSN next week

The console world will be battling undead next week as Konami's Zombie Apocalypse arrives for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, the 23rd and 24th respectively.

Through seven environments, gamers must do battle against the hordes of undead and survive 55 days, all the while brandishing 11 implements of carnage. It has 4-player co-op.

UT developer Epic Games have had a word with their pals at Steam, they've gone and got us a free-to-play weekend for Unreal Tournament 3 Black, which includes all updates.

If you buy a standard edition of UT3 in shops then you'll be given a key to get all of the Black bundle extras free. Currently there's 60% off UT3 Black until Sept. 27th on Steam.

Microsoft's Halo 3, ODST and Reach beta Xbox 360 bundle PAL only

It seems that the mega bundling of Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and multiplayer beta access to Halo: Reach with an Xbox 360 Elite, is only going on sale from the PAL region.

This comes after a special hardware bundle for Activision's Modern Warfare 2 was announced, and another recent bundle for Forza Motorsport 3 - each packing a 250GB Xbox 360.

Sony have announced that come September 24th, which is when the Tokyo Game Show kicks off, PS3 gamers can grab a Lost Planet 2 demo complete with co-op play.

It will include "two additional missions" that is an "exclusive experience" to the PSN treat. Capcom will also be releasing the newest trailer for the game the same day, Sept. 24th.

Australia bans Valve's Left 4 Dead 2, OFLC refuses classification

Taking out zombie infected isn't too fond a past time Down Under it seems. Australia's OFLC has refused to put an MA15+ on the sequel title, citing it has too much violence.

The official report says Left 4 Dead 2 contains "realistic, frenetic and unrelenting violence" inflicted upon "living humans infected with a rabies-like virus". One heck of a rabies case.

Two giants in the videogames industry have conspired, and so now the world has been given the chance to pre-order a "limited edition" Xbox 360 with a custom paint job.

The special hardware bundle includes a Modern Warfare 2 themed Xbox 360 with 250GB hard drive attached. It also has two wireless controllers and a standard edition of the shooter.

Sony offering up to 16k MAG beta codes, will open "six hours a day"

For those looking to get inside the MAG beta you're in luck, Sony is running a quick signup for more testers and they have, or had, "up to 16,000 Promotional Codes" ready.

The beta sessions will run Monday to Friday for six hours each day. These time slots will be at 5pm to 8pm and midnight to 3am GMT. Not for Germany, due to "restrictions imposed" by law.

Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype reveals for PSN, won't have PC retail

Sidequest Studios is developing a sequel to Soldner-X: Himmelssturmer, which came out on PC and then a year later on PSN. This time it'll just being doing rounds on PS3.

The horizontal space shooter is due this winter, and is dubbed Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype. It arrives with seven unique "action-loaded" levels to an "adrenaline pumping" soundtrack.

Valve want to 'give back' to authors, sell liked mods on Xbox Live

With Left 4 Dead 2 upcoming, Valve wants to expand what's on offer for the two titles and particularly on Xbox 360. They want to be able to sell mods, with monies given to creators.

They of course would like them on there for free but Xbox Live "isn't set up like that," so charges are a must. Valve want PC mods to "somehow integrate" with the Microsoft system.
