An internal development team has been founded by Mad Catz Interactive, and it will be making MMO flight simulators with the first "expected to launch in 2012."

ThunderHawk Studios is based in San Diego, California and it's an "important milestone" for Mad Catz as they expand their "participation" in the games industry.

Publisher Activision won't be turning away from Freestyle Games, developer of DJ Hero, as the UK studio gets a "new, innovative project" to chew on with 75 devs.

Meanwhile 35 placements have been cut back. They're still in the "consultation process" and so can't discuss their new project; still a "strong partnership" with Acti.

At E3 2011 we'll get to see Tecmo's freshly announced Champion Jockey: G1 Jockey & Gallop Racer for Xbox 360 and PS3, which fully supports motion.

It lets us "simulate the jockey experience" with a "high degree of accuracy" says the publisher. We have to understand "rhythm, potential, stamina" of our horses too.

Gaijin Entertainment is developing Birds of Steel, a WWII aerial combat simulator spanning critical battles between air forces from in the Pacific and Europe.

Choose from Allies, Axis or Japanese aircraft with online multiplayer featuring "massive" dogfights and co-op missions. Gaijin is no stranger to the skies.

Creatures 4 announced

The original life simulation is back, as publisher Gameware has announced Creatures 4 for PC and Mac. Creatures boasts having procedural artificial intelligence that learns about its world and you as the game goes along and virtual DNA as the player may breed and winnow generations to get strange and new Creatures.

According to a leaked internal memo from a Microsoft tech support employee, the next Xbox 360 system update will be issued on 19th May.

The update will be rolled out between six separate groups "to ensure a high quality deployment.", which should be completed by 30th May. Avatar Kinect won't be included in the update, but it will be released as a separate download on 27th May.

Family Game Night 4: The Game Show will be featuring full Kinect and PlayStation Move support when it releases. The title features 5 games from the TV show.

The publisher happily notes the videogame series of Family Game Night has now surpassed 4 million copies sold since its 2008 debut, in both retail and digital.

Microsoft's updated the Xbox Live Status page with an alert that warns users of a potential phishing scam while playing Modern Warfare 2.

"Users may receive potential phishing attempts via title specific messaging while playing Modern Warfare 2." read a statement on the Status Page. "We are aware of the problem and are working to resolve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience"

Skydive: Proximity Flight announced

Gaijin Entertainment has announced Skydive: Proximity Flight, a skydiving simulator that will utilize motion control for realistic simulation of falling in a wingsuit.

Using motion controllers, Skydive players will be able to fly through the air by simply waving their arms and maneuvering their bodies. The game promises Realistic graphics, precise sounds, and stunning aerial landscapes to provide an immersive skydiving experience.

X Rebirth announced

Deep Silver has announced that the X series has been reborn with the appropriately titled X Rebirth. The last game in the space trading and combat simulator series from German developer Egosoft was X3: Terran Conflict, released in 2007.

Harmonix has let loose on the dance floor three new songs as DLC for the Kinect loving Dance Central. They're available from today the 19th on Xbox Live.

Each is priced at 240 Microsoft Points but don't forget it's not just the songs but the dance routines too. It's time to prove you're a Wild Thing? It was in the 80's.

The plastic peripheral strumming of Guitar Hero isn't over after all as Activision's Dan Winters affirms it's just taking a break from the spotlight, it hasn't ended.

They'll "continue to sustain the channel" and keep the brand alive, but they're not making a "new one for next year, that's all." Guitar Hero 'ended' along with 500 jobs.

Ubisoft has announced a partnership with sports drink goliath Gatorade, who will have produced some new free DLC for the Kinect-powered fitness software Your Shape: Fitness Evolved. The new DLC uses the workout regimen used by celebrity-trainer Gunnar Peterson, called G Series FIT.

THQ today confirmed that it's developing UFC Personal Trainer: The Ultimate Fitness System for Xbox 360's Kinect and PlayStation 3's Move.

Designed by the National Academy of Sports Medicine with support from martial arts (MMA) training experts Mark DellaGrotte, Greg Jackson and Javier Mendez, who have worked with renowned UFC fighters such as current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, current UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir.
