Blur hasn't "restricted or slowed down" Bizarre's other 2 projects

Developer Bizarre Creations of Project Gotham Racing fame has two other projects on the go alongside the upcoming action racer Blur.

The delay to Blur has been about polishing and adding "extra functionality." They haven't needed to draft in other project teams to help.

Sony dates ModNation Racers May 25th, EU could be "same week"

The US release date is confirmed as May 25th by SCEA, with SCE Europe hoping it will arrive "across PAL regions" the very same week.

The 'Play, Create, Share' racer has been in development by United Front. US pre-order bonuses include some known hero appearances.

Colin McRae: DiRT 3 is in the works, it's "something fresh and new"

Codemasters' Gavin Cheshire has blabbed that DiRT 3 is under development and how it'll be throwing DiRT 2's ideas away to be innovative.

Boss Cheshire warns "if you don't innovate, you're dead." They're the "last bastion of British publishing" so we can expect DiRT 3 to "fly the flag".

Demo is tomorrow for MotoGP 09/10 from Capcom, for XBL and PSN

Publisher Capcom has announced that a demo for their motorbike racer MotoGP 09/10 arrives March 4th, coming to Xbox 360 and PS3.

It includes samples of three game modes: Championship, Time Trial and Arcade. The full game releases March 19th, with 2010 content.

Atari announces Test Drive Unlimited 2 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC

Atari has announced that Test Drive Unlimited 2 is in development for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It will again be developed by Eden studios, and should release in Fall 2010.

The game will feature M.O.O.R, that's Massively Open Online Racing, which puts players in "a persistent online environment and revolutionizing multiplayer racing communities" as drivers can team up and share their achievements and creations in an online world

Blur multiplayer beta starts March 8th, contests to giveaway tokens

Activision's Dan Amrich has revealed that Blur's multiplayer beta in fact starts next week on the 8th, and not this week as some sites reported.

What does happen this week though is the start of giveaways for beta tokens for Blur. It appears the beta will run only on the Xbox 360.

Disney dates Split/Second: Velocity

Disney Interactive Studios has announced today that Split/Second: Velocity, the action racing game from Black Rock Studio, will be released in Europe on Friday 21st May.

Set within the world of a fictional reality TV show, Split/Second: Velocity players don’t just try to race to the finish line – they trigger explosive events that alter the track to take out opponents or create short cuts.

PixelJunk developer Q Games is giving the sequel or expansion treatment to PixelJunk Racers, although which specifically remains unclear.

ESRB simply lists 'PixelJunk Racers: 2nd Lap' for PS3, published by Sony, but doesn't offer any description beyond "mild cartoon violence".

SCEE registers MotorStorm 3 domain, two more SKUs filed by Sony

Sony Europe has been linked with the registry of motorstorm3.com, meaning there's a big chance 3 is on the way, despite what Sony says.

The corporate giant has also filed two more SKUs under their 'Sand Dollar Enterprise' alias. There's no mention of hardware changes to PS3.

Motorbikes going really fast around tracks? Next month say Capcom as MotoGP 09/10 releases on Xbox 360 and PS3, with a demo earlier.

It packs online races for up to 20 players with votes for the track, bikes and laps. 2010 season content will go up shortly after its release.

Gaijin Entertainment confirms Death Track: Resurrection for PS3

Gaijin Entertainment has confirmed to Strategy Informer that it will develop and publish a PlayStation 3 version of Death Track: Resurrection, a combat car racing game that was published last year by 1C on the PC.

There's no word on an Xbox 360 version yet, but a representative said that a PSN version is coming.

1C's 'Death Track: Resurrection' released last year on PC and was in fact a sequel to the 1989 combat racer 'Death Track' from Dynamix.

Anyway, now it looks to be heading to PS3 under publisher Gaijin Entertainment. Resurrection is all about a futuristic tournament.

Gran Turismo franchise has sold over 55m copies, show Polyphony

Developer Polyphony Digital has released figures for Gran Turismo titles revealing their sales numbers to the world. They total 55,450,000.

Gran Turismo 4 cleared almost 11m copies with Gran Turismo PSP at 1.8m. Gran Turismo, that old dog, moved a whopping 10.8m. Not bad eh?

In an interview, Sony Portugal boss James Armstrong says they've got Gran Turismo 5 lining up for a fall 2010 window, but haven't decided.

This is quite agonizing for GT fans especially as the game is 90 percent done, according to Polyphony head Kazunori Yamauchi. More delay?

Developer Criterion has already pumped out quite hot stuff as downloadable content for Burnout Paradise, but they won't be doing any more.

In fact they implore fans to "please stop asking" because there "will be no more!" They add they have done "WAY more than everyone else".

Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi of developer Polyphony Digital has revealed his latest creation rivals Uncharted 2 in PS3 efficiency.

The PlayStation 3 tech has a "very high peak performance," and the more you experiment with it "the better it performs." No US or EU date yet.

Ubisoft has confirmed that it's working on a new game in the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon series, along with a new Driver game.

Details are extremely slim, but it has also mentioned a new episode for Assassin's Creed, which will contain an online multiplayer mode. We don't know if this will be released as a new game or if it'll be DLC.

Sony has offered comment on the delay for Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 5, saying that it only affects its release in the Japanese market.

Of course we have no European date for the racer so how could we know? SCEE say a PAL launch date will arrive "in due course." Hopefully.

ModNation Racers European Beta starts on January 22

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that the European beta test for ModNation Racers will begin on January 22.

Users must login to the PlayStation Network store on Thursday, January 21 to download the beta client, but only the first 100,000 downloads will be given access. The beta will be playable on Friday, January 22.

Supposedly some concept art for Criterion's Need for Speed project surfaced, giving us a subtitle with 'Outlaw' in the name. It's all rubbish.

The Burnout developer has announced none of it's true. While EA has confirmed they're definitely working on an NFS title, this isn't it.
