Console RTS an "interesting proposition" but not "good strategy"

Company of Heroes and Warhammer developer Relic has said to CVG that none of their own real-time strategy games would translate very well on a console.

Relic's Mark Noseworthy does hint though that Dawn of War 2 isn't "a traditional RTS" and would make a much better "candidate for porting to console". Heresy!

With the release of the second expansion to World of Warcraft just around the seasonal corner, Blizz are getting ready to unleash a major update.

It'll add and tweak numerous things throughout Azeroth and Outland to get the game ready for the Lich King's arrival. They've highlighted some of the bigger changes.

The next in the franchise is already underway apparently as former MGS developer Ryan Payton confirmed its existence in an interview with Kotaku.

Hideo Kojima, creator of Metal Gear, has once again cast serious doubt over a MGS 4 visit to Xbox 360 saying "it is probably not possible" to pull off.

According to EGM, Rockstar Games are chiselling out a new instalment for Max Payne as well as working on a new PS3 exclusive.

Also a source for VG247 has let slip that a "brand new IP" at Rockstar North may or may not get to see the retail shelf - but wouldn't say if this was linked with the PS3 exclusive.

3D Realms team "actively testing parts" of Duke Nukem Forever

The forever-upcoming Duke Nukem game is finally "coming together" reveals George Broussard, head honcho at 3D Realms.

Speaking with TeamXbox on the XBLA remake of classic Duke Nukem 3D Broussard spills a little of his enthusiasm for the full return of the Duke. "It's fun, it's in focus," he says.

Expansion Penumbra: Requiem live on GamersGate

Paradox Interactive today announced the release of the expansion to Penumbra: Requiem. The expansion requires Penumbra: Black Plague and is available exclusively via download on GamersGate and Direct2Drive. The expansion will tie together the previous Penumbra games and give the series its climactic resolution.

Requiem takes up where the last game ended and sees Philip, the game's protagonist, falling deeper into madness which forces him to fight some inner demons as well as outer ones.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning goes gold

Electronic Arts announced today that the highly-anticipated MMORPG, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, has gone gold and will open its servers on September 18, 2008 with an estimated retail price of £34.99.

Rumour-mill: Could Gearbox's "even bigger" project be Halo 4?

It's been swirling around a little this rumour, that Gearbox's top secret title project is in fact Halo 4. Bungie, creator of all things Master Chief, pointed to Microsoft for answers.

The IP is in the corporate giants hands so we should "take it up with them," not Bungie they say. OXM say Gearbox's rumoured Halo 4 is a next Xbox launcher too.

Exploration key to Star Trek Online, "will never take a backseat"

During one of Cryptic's Q&A's with the fans they reveal that exploration will be every bit as part of the MMO as the ships and their crews - "it's integral."

Many benefits will be granted for venturing through the final frontier, finding new alien cultures and possible recruits for example.

Rumour-mill: GTA IV DLC "roughly 15 hours" of new gameplay?

According to RPG-TV the upcoming first piece of DLC, which is set to be exclusive to Xbox 360, could be around 15 hours of new stuff.

"Very little details were given but I was assured it would be sizeable", says the site. Not just a bunch of new cars and pedestrian one-liners then? Hooray!
