Telltale celebrate 20 years of Wallace & Gromit, free episode given

The clay animation duo has hit two decades old and in celebration, developer Telltale Games is giving an entire episode away for free.

Only for this week though, as well as discounting the full Wallace & Gromit season, with donations given to charities for each sale made.

Microsoft has told Strategy Informer that the Xbox Live Rewards feature is part of a pilot program, and is only available to a small group from its global Xbox Live community. Microsoft doesn't have any plans for a public program at this time.

The statement read; "The Xbox Live Rewards Web site is part of a pilot program we're testing with a small group from our global Xbox Live community. We are always exploring new ways to provide the most value to our members, but have nothing to announce about a public program at this time."

Rare's sights "trained on Natal," hopeful of some "genre evolution"

GoldenEye developer Rare is experimenting with Project Natal right now, which they call "a great opportunity" to break fresh ground.

It will also let studios "exercise some genre evolution," which UK-based Rare hopes they can achieve. Project Natal is due in fall 2010.

Publisher THQ is excited to see the other side of Christmas because they've got three games releasing in Q1 2010, all for the core.

The recent signing of sci-fi shooter Metro 2033 is "another fantastic addition" to THQ's portfolio, joining Darksiders and MX vs ATV.

Sky Player to be relaunched gradually

Microsoft has confirmed that the Sky Player for Xbox Live is being relaunched gradually for all Xbox 360 customers. The service was meant to launch last month, but problems prevented this due to high demand.

Some customers aren't able to access the service, but Microsoft says that "tens of thousands more will be added each day, until the service is available to all."

In a press release detailing Marvel Entertainments third quarter operating results, release dates for Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America were mentioned, which are all in development by Sega.

Iron Man 2 for April 2010
Thor for May 2011
Captain America for July 2011

US retailer GameStop accidentally boasted a pre-order treat for Bad Company 2, blabbing about the PS3 beta starting November 19th.

This promotion was pulled but the Internet has it now. EA are coy but pledge "more details later this week," are to be revealed for fans.

Yes, developer Valve has gone mad with power. They've promised Bill's L4D hat to Team Fortress 2 players if you pre-order L4D2.

This "momentous event" is already available for those who've pre-ordered already, so just fire up your next game of TF2 for Bill's hat.

Doom cover artist Don Ivan Punchatz passes away, he was aged 73

You may not know the man but his work won't be easily forgotten, particularly for gamers. Artist Don Ivan Punchatz gave us Doom.

He was the cover artist for the original shooter of hellish demons. Had Punchatz known it would make "a jillion smackers"...

According to the LinkedIn profile for Chris Kolmatycki, he was once a game designer at HB Studios, and worked on a Family Guy game.

It was pre-production work for a "Family Guy Party Game" on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. Another online profile corroborates a little.

David Cage of Quantic Dream has revealed a playable demo for PS3 Heavy Rain is in the pipe, but it's hard to "convey" to the player.

Scenes focus on action or exploration, showing either will make some believe that's what it's all about. Must find "best scene for it."

Publisher Activision has been criticized for the high RRP of Modern Warfare 2, but some retailer deals cut its price by over half its tag.

What's more is that supermarkets in the UK are likely to slash the price deep, with ASDA already having done so with FIFA 10.

All that levelling up through experience won't do for Final Fantasy XIII, so they've introduced the Crystalium System, with Crystal Points.

After each battle you get CP which can be spent on 'growing' roles with new skills and abilities, like unlocking more powerful Fire.

EA announces new DLC Pack for Fight Night Round 4

Electronic Arts announced today that it will be releasing new Downloadable Content for Fight Night Round 4 in early December for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The DLC pack will cost 800 MS Points and £9.99 on the PlayStation Network.

The DLC will add Bernard Hopkins, Sonny Liston and Evander Holyfield as playable boxers, while including two new game modes. The first, Old School Rules brings a new take to the traditional boxing experience, while the second, Ring Rivalries, allows you to re-create some of the greatest match ups in boxing history.

Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 5 has a track editor, by the developer's own admission apparently, but Sony won't budge on the silence.

Allegedly it allows gamers to tweak or rebuild "from scratch" all the tracks included, but it's unclear the extent of user freedom.

Microsoft has flipped the switch to their Xbox Live Rewards scheme in the US, which offers things like MSP for renewed Gold subscriptions.

First time purchases on Marketplace nets users 100 MSP, with a full 200 MSP for 12-month Gold renewals. No word on Europe yet.

Japanese development studios for Sony have been lacking PS3 line-ups for some time, having been told to focus on PSP, but no more.

Sony are "now re-energizing teams" to work on new PS3 ideas for development, and will have things to show us "sometime next year."

Spector: Eidos refused sale of Deus Ex, 'were and are' stories left

Warren Spector, creator of Deus Ex, reveals he hasn't quite moved on from the sci-fi series and even tried to buy it from Eidos.

They wouldn't part with Deus Ex though, with Spector saying there "were and still are" stories he'd "like to tell." Deus Ex 3 in 2010.
