EA officially unveils Need for Speed: Most Wanted DLC, now on Xbox 360 and PS3

Three DLC packs are en route to Need for Speed: Most Wanted - the leaked PS3 trophies list told us that - but now EA has confirmed their existence, and all three packs are available to download.

Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers can enjoy the Terminal Velocity, Movie Legends and Heroes packs of new races and vehicles right now, but PC Need for Speed junkies must wait until March 13th.

EA is releasing three DLC packs containing new races and vehicles for Criterion's Need for Speed: Most Wanted. These new content packs were outed by leaked PlayStation 3 trophies.

They're named as the Terminal Velocity Pack, the Movie Legends Pack and the NFS Heroes Pack. Each provides new single player and multiplayer goodies tied to trophies/achievements.

Codemasters hands over publishing to Namco Bandai

In a new agreement Codemasters will be relinquishing self-publishing as Namco Bandai expands to include the studio's portfolio amongst its label in Europe and Australasia, which includes GRiD 2.

This also covers every forthcoming major release, as the two update their 2010 arrangement which "built a trustworthy relationship" over the years. Codemasters don't want the hassle of costs.

The sequel to Race Driver: GRID will be arriving at the end of May, announces Codemasters. They also unveil a Special Edition that offers "extra content, redeemable via download" for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

There is also a Brands Hatch Edition for UK gamers, including two additional packs: McLaren Racing Pack and Head Start Pack. GRiD 2 features an "entirely distinct and extensive" multiplayer.

Codemasters had immediate plans for a sequel to GRID, but senior games designer Ross Gowing admits their ambitions surpassed what they could accomplish with the hardware at the time.

Five years of platform know-how and improvements to the EGO engine mean GRID 2 can become a reality. Game features must be "absolutely first class" or they're not worth pursuing.

Before the British racing development studio Bizarre Creations spun off track and landed upside in a ditch, they were working on a new title powered by a new game engine, reveals a former boss.

The engine was internally made and it was "really nice tech" but never saw the light of day, laments Christopher Davie. He released some footage of the unannounced racer, showing off Dubai.

The newly opened EA Gothenburg in Sweden has been renamed Ghost, with the studio's new website advertising a host of new positions. As Gothenburg the team were Need for Speed bound.

The development team were also using DICE's Frostbite 2 engine, which is widely used by EA for other titles outside Battlefield. UK-based Criterion Games are 'in charge' of Need for Speed.

The story for the upcoming Need for Speed film from DreamWorks has been revealed. The premise centres around Aaron Paul's character getting framed for a friend's murder and then seeking revenge.

Actor Dominic Cooper is currently tipped to star opposite as male lead Dino, an ex-NASCAR racer who builds a business out of modifying cars. Need for Speed should screen February 7th, 2014.

The audacious, cheeky and speedy F1 Race Stars from Codemasters receives its very first gameplay trailer. It's an arcade style racer with official Formula One "cars, teams and circuits" in kart racer style.

F1 Race Stars features an "extensive career mode" involving a range of game modes as well as "play for a quick blast". It supports 4-player split-screen and 12-player online.

Publisher Codemasters today celebrates the release of F1 2012 in Europe as it hits Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It features twelve teams and twenty-four drivers competing in the 2012 season.

This entry also features a 'Young Driver Test' mode which acts as a tutorial to let newbies get used to handling Formula One cars, as well as the new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
