Yes, Bungie is working on Halo for PC, if you count a lone developer at the studio collaborating with fans to work on releasing a new PC patch. It's keep the Halo multiplayer platform working post-GameSpy.

Hosting service GameRanger announced they'd be filling in for GameSpy as they shut down their systems, but some game's will need to be tweaked with a patch first.

Obviously someone is holding Epic Games' loved ones hostage because we're getting a game totally free, with no micro-transaction strings attached. The new Unreal Tournament won't cost us a single penny.

Development began on the Unreal Engine 4 shooter the moment they announced, and Epic want to actively have the community help develop it, as in actually make it with them.

The sequel to Tripwire's co-op shooter Killing Floor has been revealed by the developer, and it's apparently coming to Steam and Early Access 'much sooner than we'd expect' it would. It'll also support Steam Workshop.

A big emphasis for the team this time is the endgame, which is "much more entertaining and has a lot more replay value," promises Tripwire president John Gibson. No release date yet.

Almost 5 minutes of video has been released by developer Rebellion giving us new gameplay footage of Sniper Elite 3. They deliver it in the style of a briefing, divulging our mission to take out 'wonder weapons'.

It's full of teasing shots and emphasises our objectives "can be tackled in any order." Wind, gravity and our heart beat affect the flight of our shots. "One bullet can change history."

Techland's fantasy dungeon-crawler Hellraid 'upgraded', Early Access later in 2014

Dead Island's Techland has re-announced Hellraid for PC, Xbox One and PS4 as their previous version of the game is scrapped as they move away from Xbox 360 and PS3. The studio has redesigned the dungeon crawler.

Its four character classes have been merged into one, which all powers now accessible. Hellraid is now also using Chrome Engine 6, the same engine behind Techland's Dying Light.

Indie team's Serious Sam Classics: Revolution now on Steam Early Access

Croteam have announced that a "fan-led project" for Serious Sam has just arrived on Steam Early Access where the first two Serious Sam games have been reworked into this "unified version" under Croteam's supervision.

The First Encounter and The Second Encounter are squished together with updated tech, new gameplay modes, new levels, and fan-favourite mods, weapons and maps.

DICE's server update for Battlefield 4 addresses 'Death Shield' bug

A server update for Battlefield 4 has addressed the not-so-long-ago discovered 'Death Shield' bug which could stop bullets, grenades and other projectiles from crossing over a fallen soldier awaiting revival.

This fix comes as DICE launch their Rent-A-Server program for consoles, which has already suffered fault for Xbox One and have "temporarily removed the feature". You may now eye-roll.

Watching bones splinter and sloshing organs burst is cool and all, but what about those vehicles catching a stray bullet? Rebellion has released a new developer diary for Sniper Elite 3 for 'vehicle takedowns'.

An all-new vehicle killcam will debut alongside the much improved regular killcam for squishy meatbags. Rebellion also toured the UK's Bovington Museum to better render tanks.

Bethesda has released a new trailer for Wolfenstein: The New Order which looks at the differences between stealthy approaches and outright mayhem as BJ Blazkowicz in an early chapter of the game.

It explores the alternate paths we can choose as we fight for resistance forces in this first-person shooter in the 1960s. This new gameplay footage is just a few minutes long.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare launching on PC June 27th

EA and PopCap Games' Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will be uprooting the weeds of Xbox exclusivity and planting seeds for a PC release, which are due to sprout June 27th.

Garden Warfare presents the Plants vs. Zombies series for the first time in a multiplayer shooter setting. The PC release will all include all the game's released content to-date.

Rubberbanding issues "mostly gone" from Battlefield 4 following server upgrades

DICE has confirmed that a server hardware upgrade for Battlefield 4 is the reason behind the sudden drop in rubberbanding issues. As hardware changes aren't software related technically, no changelog was produced.

While not entirely extinct, the rubberbanding menace has been largely squashed. The confirmation of a hardware upgrade came from a Battlelog producer on Reddit.

The second part of Bethesda's Twitch stream for Wolfenstein: The New Order will be airing today from 2.00PM EST. Bethesda and MachineGames gave us 30-minute playthrough last week.

Wolfenstein: The New Order releases on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One and PS4 May 20th. The first Twitch stream is still available to pick through on the official Twitch channel.

Evolve is Turtle Rock Studios' new co-op shooter where four hunters team up against a single evolving monster who's also controlled by a player. For the first time the studio releases footage of a full match.

Four against one huge monster "really sets Evolve apart" from the others, says Turtle Rock. The full video offers six different viewpoints on the match from each player.

The newly designed 'Attica' map for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms allows for "more circulation and flanking" than its original, says Ubisoft. Holding control will prove harder for teams.

World War Two shooter Red Orchestra 2 is going to go entirely free later today and will remain so for 24 hours. Should you grab the game during that time then it'll remain yours forever at no charge - for reals.

Indie developer Kraken Games has their sci-fi multiplayer shooter Warside on Steam Greenlight, which still needs votes, and it's an interesting addition because it's a "visceral multiplayer" with a flexible RPG system.

Also it's sci-fi with a delciously chaotic side-scrolling platform view in 2D. We fight other elite soldiers and even monsters as we compete for resources, with RPG elements for customisation.

DICE "looking into" Battlefield 4 'Death Shield' bug

Some detective work has unearthed a Battlefield 4 bug being referred to as 'Death Shield', which is stopping bullets from finishing their journeys. Allegedly this bug has been in for quite some time.

It's linked to the grace period team mates have to revive their fallen comrades where a hit box forms over the fallen soldier to protect them from bullets. Trouble is, it protects others.

Crysis and Crysis 2 multiplayer "will no longer be playable" from May 31st

With the GameSpy Technologies shutdown this May 31st there are going to be a lot of games with any multiplayer, unless studios get patching. Crytek has confirmed Crysis 1 & 2 will be losing their online portions.

May 31st will be the "conclusion of online multiplayer support" as the GameSpy service shuts off. Both games' single-player campaigns are "unaffected by this transition,".

The free-to-play shooter Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms is now available to play on PC as it releases over Steam. There are three starter and advanced packs being sold at £6.99 and £18.99 respectively.

There's also a squad pack for £29.99. Yep - it's free-to-play alright. It's a third-person, team-based tactical shooter as you'd expect of the Ghost Recon series, with 16-player matches.
