In some surprising news, Bethesda has announced that developer MachineGames' upcoming shooter, Wolfenstein: The New Order, will not have a multiplayer mode. The game will only have a single player campaign.

If you thought you'd be retiring on that big fat cheque from EA because you domain parked yourself at Battlefield16.com, then think again. EA has been on the war path and annexed a few more slithers of the internet.
The publisher already held ownership of domains all the way up to Battlefield9.com, but their legal department decided to snatch some more just in case. Pure numeracy is cool, who needs subtitles?

EA has had some questionable marketing links with weapons manufacturers in the past, which by the way they vow never to do again, but now they're going one step further; they won't license guns anymore.
No more royalty cheques from EA for using real-world weapons, but that doesn't mean they won't stop using them. They intend to wield the 'fair use' argument in court, if necessary.

EA and DICE's Battlefield 3 and Battlelog servers have come under attack by an external group, knocking out the online services that power the soon-to-be-replaced shooter. They confirmed the outages via twitter.
As of now the attack seems to have been thwarted with all platform servers back up and running. EA recently revealed 3.5 million have subscribed to Battlefield Premium.

MachineGames, a studio made up of former Starbreeze developers, is behind the newly announced Wolfenstein: The New Order. Bethesda reveal it occupies a 'what if' reality where the Nazis won WW2.

Sega and Gearbox had been named in a class-action lawsuit over having deceived the public with an E3 2012 build and trailers of Aliens: Colonial Marines that turned out to be nothing like the finished product. Sega had even admitted the trailers were misleading.

Attorneys are on the march as a lawsuit is launched against SEGA and Gearbox Software for 'unrepresentative trade show demos' regarding Aliens: Colonial Marines, which took place at PAX and E3 2011.

Spark Unlimited is in collaboration with Capcom with Lost Planet 3, and that only happened because the "best-known developers" aren't all that interested in pursuing someone else's vision over their own.

Retailer EB Games has confirmed DICE has included the cob-webbed Commander Mode in Battlefield 4, which has a single individual guiding their team's strategy - it's like trying to herd cats, really.
